I think Elizabeth Cady Stanton is an excellent role model for women empowerment and courage. I admire that she never gave up in her fight for women's suffrage and actively protested the lack of women's rights. Because of her, I can now vote, voice my opinion, and work as an equal alongside men. She inspires me to stand up for what I believe in and not settle for anything less than what I deserve.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was outraged that only one college in the United States accepted women. She was appalled that no women were doctors or lawyers. To her, it was unbelievable that women weren't allowed to vote or be elected to political office. She believed that if African American's were fighting for rights, women should be too.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton led the Seneca Falls Convention for women's rights with Lucretia Mott. She was an abolitionist who saw the connection between the fight for African American's freedom and women's freedom. She gave lectures and speeches about the importance of women's rights. She was one of the first women to really speak out about these things, and her determination began a movement that eventually led to the passing of the 19th amendment and still continues today.

The Declaration of Sentiments is an inspirational document that I think states exactly what women deserve and how they feel. It was the first step in creating a movement for women and its effect has led me to be able to be heard and acknowledged in today's society. I have many of the rights listed in this document and I am privileged to live in the United States, where women can speak and act for themselves.

The Declaration of Sentiments reflects the Declaration of Independence, stating that all men AND WOMEN are created equal. It also states that women have the rights to demand change if the government doesn't protect their rights. They are entitled to the same rights as men (including the right to vote). It states the many facts used as evidence that women are treated unfairly, including no freedom of speech, no representation in government, no rights to property, and no thorough education.
