<title>On the day of 9-11, games that day were immediately cancelled, and all games that were supposed to happen later that week were also altered, scheduled to happen a week later than planned. The next baseball game after 9/11 in New York was on September 21. It is said that that game is really what helped the citizens of America get back into the spirit of being an American citizen.&amp;nbsp;</title>

<title>President Bush stood upon the center of the pitching mound, instead of on the spot to the side like was planned. This was to show that they would stand up to this and America would get through this. The ball throw was a perfect strike and was is was a great start to an even greater first game back from the tradgey.&amp;nbsp;</title>

<title>&quot; What happened after Bush’s ceremonial first pitch was nothing short of surreal. The next three games between the Yankees and Diamondbacks would become instant classics.&quot; - By Anthony Castellano and Michael Rothman of ABC news. These games gave the citizens a sense of normalcy in a way.  Not to say &quot;Everything will be just like it was before, evryhitng will be fine,&quot; but as to say &quot; We can, and we will recover from this. This will not shake us, we will be strong!&quot;</title>

<title>In a later game, the&amp;nbsp;Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies,&amp;nbsp;John Henry, of Wartminster, Pa., wears a t-shirt with the cartoon of Osama bin Laden in the sights of America basically. While baseball did not really start the idea of revenge, it still got people back into their spirits enough o realize that this was something that really needed to be done, in a way.&amp;nbsp;</title>

<title>Before the iconic game on 9/21, the Mets giant bill board had been modified. The lights that had once outlines the twin towers were now shut off. In their place though, a ribbon, with the colors of the American flag, was places on the towers. It was to show respect for the people lost in this terrible tragedy.&amp;nbsp;</title>
