As we know, Malacca is rich with centuries-old cultures, its most prominent one being the Peranakan. Peranakan, or in other terms, ‘Baba Nyonya’, is a mix of two very diverse customs and traditions, and the term was coined back in the late 15th century when interracial marriages first began between Chinese immigrants and local Malay Muslim ladies. In terms of weekend, there are many people walk in and today working life like a cat on a hot tin roof. We need to served them, took menu, and write down the food they order. "Our Kitchen" is a sole property that created by the owner and sometimes his family will come to help him because this is his family business also. Between, most of the worker that he hire is part time workers and the full time worker is lack. It's because the operation time are long and sometimes very busy keep doing things. From this aspect, I hope that the boss can keep maintain hired the same worker and giving them good welfare because the new employees need to spend time to adapting to the new environment.

There are a small number of restaurants serving Nyonya food can be found in Malacca. Nyonya Laksa is a very popular dish in Malacca, while another variant called Asam Laksa is famous in Penang. Most the guest will ordering this food. All these foods is the Malaysia local Nyonya food, I want more foreigners to taste these authentic foods and bring out these taste to their country. There have one German family walk in to having their lunch, their looking all the foods that state on menu, and realized there are no Nyonya kueh in the menu. Because the reason they came in is to try the Nyonya kueh. Although there didn't have any kueh, they still ordered the foods. As we know, a wide variety of traditional cakes (keuh or kue) such as Lepak Kacang, Ang Ku Kue (a black variant is called Kueh Ku Hitam), Kueh Gulong (another variant of Kueh Kapit), Kueh Bolu, Galeng Galoh (also known as Seri Muka), Kueh Bangket and many more. Traditional kueh are sometimes made in conjunction with festivals that the celebrate. This is a nice restaurant and near Jonker Street. For the certain food, the Chef will demonstrate how to eat the buah keluak. The environment are big and cosy eating area as it is in a old house and it is very long. It doesn’t look much from outside and it’s in a side street just off the mains street but it’s really good. And the things that i always do are the same with everyday before. Our Kitchen has long been the place to go for good Nyonya food in Jonker Walk. Its atmosphere isn’t at all pretentious - it’s like stepping into a friendly neighbour’s dining room for some delicious food, and dishes come piping hot from the kitchen. A note though, "Our Kitchen" is not a Halal eatery so Muslims might want to head to other Nyonya food. Suitable for family gatherings, or those would like to dine in style, but for more value for your money, order any of their set menus, suitable for solo diners and large parties.
