The diversity of the campus gives an awesome learning environment without the feeling of not fitting in or feeling that you don’t belong, because UTRGV has the doors open to everyone. They help us with the simplest questions as to where a building is located to guidance of a more complex aid. UTRGV has it all. Personally, I enjoy the library, the way it is set and how you can choose which floor you feel more comfortable. If you’re in a study group you can go to the second floor and enjoy some food. If you want to finish your assignments or have a more quiet ambient the third room is perfect for that. The fourth floor is more of a quiet place in which you can take a nap or if you need to study before a test and really need to focus the fourth room is the best option.

Since my first year I have been able to make many friends on campus, I always feel comfortable with the staff knowing that I am safe and there is always someone nearby willing to help. There is always going to be another student open to becoming friends wherever you are. Truly the friendliest place is the student union and game room. It took me a while to get to be comfortable at campus but I don't regret a thing. I'm glad I'll be able to complete my degree here in a truly wonderful and welcoming place.

I am a sophmore and majoring in interdisciplinary studies. I love that I will later be able to teach kids and become something that I've been wanting to do since I was a kid. Throughout my high school years, I would try and see what I can pursue in but becoming a teacher for elementary schools has stuck with me since I was a kid. When I would get all my stuffed animals together and sit them in assigned seating and become the teacher for them. I would ask them questions even when they wouldn't respond. My family said they knew I was going to pursue this career because from a young age they saw how I wanted to shape future generations and leave an impact. I hope that my dreams do come true of becoming a teacher and making my family proud.

So recently I try focusing on the homework assignments for the same class that I have that day. I try to meet up with my professors or friends who can answer my questions. I try to make it my mission to keep a balance with school, church, and my social life. When I come to school my sister and I come together and we try to make our schedules work together just to make it a one trip. When I get out of class and still waiting for my sister to get out of class I will find a nice quiet place to stay focus and work on what ever needs to be done. I sit where there are no distractions and stay focused on what needs to be done. And when I need time to reset from looking at a screen for too long then I will take a nap in the library where I know not much people,

Going into college was a fun experience, primarily because being in a new environment with new classes, and new people, was a big change, going from a small class with a busy, and packed schedule, to an open class, with more freedom and discussions between different people, there's something about the freedom on choice what you want and meeting new people that makes it even more fun and exciting to either make new friends and participate in class, making college fun. Something else I like is the UTRGV library, which makes it easier for you to concentrate and do homework with the calm and quiet environment. Lastly, another extra thing I like about UTRGV are the cats outside, I love cats so petting these others seems like a calm and fun way to start the day, also student looking out for cats shows another side of them, making them caring and empathetic people.
