This is the story of a gentleman who was drafted so young, that the Vietnamese called him the "young kid". He knew he didn't belong there, yet was patrolling the jungle fully strapped with all military equipment. On the front line, he witnessed things that were totally inhumane. He dealt with the problems he had with PTSD by making a series of YouTube videos. Each video he tells a different story of what happened in the specific war scene. - Tom Zobel

this is a story of a guy who claims to have been at Vietnam just last night. He says this because of the nightmares. He wont get close to anyone at all. What i say would be good is to write about it and open up to others about his experience at the war. This will help because no one understands what he went through until he lets others know.

Mike A was a veteran in the Vietnam war 1966. in that time period he saw many things that he might regret. He lost many of his friends, he saw innocent people. He saw how life can change in just one second. Now he suffers from PTSD , the way he can get through this is by writing about his life during the war. He says that why did his friends had to die but not him, so he probably is going through a lot right now. to get throughout this he should get engage with his hobby, maybe get into art or something like that. He can also talk to someone else who was also in the war. Maybe that will help him out.

www.anothersource.org/torment_1.html

During the Vietnam war, people are exposed to killing people. Because of this, these people are overly consuming alcohol and consuming drugs in over doses. To remedy this situation, it is suggested that these people write in a journal for 15 minutes a day, uninterrupted. In addition to that, they should start working out. Lastly, these people should play sports. IF these three stops are followed correctly, these people will be able to better manage their doubts with PTSD.

Soldiers like Roy, who at 19 years old was drafted into the war. In the war he seen killings every day, and non-stop fire from the enemy no matter where you went. After the war he experimented several jobs, before going into broadcasting. Later he became very depressed and almost committed suicide after some time. Seeking help, he eventually got his bachelors and started to help the community more.
http://www.veteransinc.org/services/housing-programs/roy/

Mike A is a Vietnam war veteran who served as a Navy Corpsman. Being a corpsman during Vietnam meant you war a prized target to the enemy. During combat, he watched dozens of other corpsmen die, including when they stormed a beach and only half of the corpsmen made it back. He deals with survivor s guilt because he was one of the few corpsmen to make it, he also dealt with because of other men who died when he couldn’t save them on the battlefield. As a remedy, he should seek more personal interactions with trusted people and try opening up; this would help in lessening the weight of his memories. He could also try finding a hobby to keep distracted from the old war memories and the keep the guilt top building up. Something else that would help is breaking down and organizing his life, making plans for each day and staying on track. This will all help in accepting what happened in the war and possibly moving on.

http://www.anothersource.org/torment_1.html

Philp Paolini served four year in Vietnam War. Philp spent approximately 3 years in Vietnam in his arrival he faced PTSD, substance abuse, and homeless. Paolini story is not uncommon more than 270000 soldiers suffer symptoms such as PTSD “severe anxiety, and uncontrollable thoughts about the disturbing events they experienced”. I logical solution is to express your emotion and dramatically effect into hobbies or even talk it out with someone one personal if not write your emotions into a notebook.

A story I found was a guy name warren which he was in the united states marine corps (USMC) the reason he had PTSD was because he always remembered seeing dead body's everywhere and he had flashbacks and went to other things to help him like drugs and alcohol and he would have bad dreams a lot and would wake up on the ground when its pouring rain. If I was to help him I would tell him to keep facing PTSD because he said himself there is no other way to face it. Also I would make him do more outdoor activities and create more new memories with maybe his grandkids or children so he can try and forget everything that happened in the war.

She has seen gruesome deaths and has been raped by her military superior that has scared her. Which has led her to have depression

Go to a VA advocate near you and talk to other people that are going through what you are as well. Continue with doing projects like aboutface and talk about your experience to give others hope and help them get through their PTSD. Lastly, just be open about what happened during the war and do not let your brain shut down while you are thinking of all the bad that has happened to you. Our brain deals with different things in different ways. If we have a traumatic memory your brain will try and put that memory in the back of your mind so you can try and forget it, but it still comes back when you relate that memory to a specific thing.
