Algorithm also causes some people to have extreme views when it comes down to a social issue. However, I would also like to add that we cannot just blame media and people for all problems caused. First of all, I was impressed that the speakers used Plato's quote to start their talking about political apathy. Although it was used in different meaning in that time, it well explains the harms of political apathy. The government is not afraid of irresponsible citizens, and they ignore some people in particular class's voice when they are regarded not interested in politics. Thus political apathy causes many harms to the country, and lead some classes's voices to ignored.

I also agreed that algorithm increases our political division. What we see is added to our algorithm and it recommends us media that we tend to watch. This leads to polarization. For example, if a person is having a rightist view and watches the rightist media a lot, the algorithm will recommend him or her a rightist media a lot. This will increase one's bias on politics or society.

These two above will make our society and politics to be polarized and populists to rise. Extremists such as alt-rights continuously spread their belifs through many medias, and political conflicts grow.

I think HERMES could be a good solution. Including newspapers with various political stances would help us get out of the algorithm's problem, and adding timelines of particular big issues help us understand overall flow of the issue.

Humans have achieved notable but fragile development. Fire rises in elsewhere, even in developed nations like USA and Korea. Gender conflicts of Korea is growing by both radical feminists and radical anti-feminists's agitation, and in US, the situation is quite similar. In Italy, fascist party has returned to the power. In a era of hate and dissension, I hope HERMES to make us smart citizens who are not affected by agitations.

It was so impressive and, it invoked the thought that I should actively participate in political activities. Politics are influencing the whole world. Political change is so fast that it’s hard to catch up, especially for teenagers. So, they started the project, “Hermes”. They tried hard to increase political participation. People are sometimes indifferent to political circumstances. For example, they don’t vote in elections, and they are reluctant to take an interest in political issues. They don’t believe anyone in political field and they are skeptical to government. How they can be interested in politics and actively participate in political activities? I think their suggestion is good solution for this problem. 
I also think the current media system is not helpful for public’s participation to politics. It is so difficult to grasp social issue right after public read the news. They feel barriers that block them from political activities. 
Also, it can also make users biased on political views. I thinkt various news sites might contain their own angles, political stance and views. 
Publics and students must be able to get chance to learn about current affairs. 
   
So, I strongly believe students should be taught about current political issues in school. I suggest that school adopt the class “political literacy”. I think it will help students to learn political issues and be interested in participation to political activities. Also, this class can also utilize this “Hermes” application!
