This book series is about young climbers by the names of Dominic Alexis, Sammi Moon, Perry Noonan, Bryn Fielder and Tilt Crowley, along with Dr. Oberman, Lenny Tatzuk, Ethan Zaph, and fearless veteran climber Cap Cicero on a mission to climb Mount Everest. Dominic, the main character, is seeking fame to become the youngest climber to ever summit the lump of rock. But rivaling him is the ambitious Tilt Crowley who messes with young Dominic's oxygen. Tilt dies trying to save Dominic when he runs out of o's. In the end, Dominic and Ethan summit Everest, and endure lots of pain. There is a memorial service held in honor of Tilt because, moving that high up is like lifting one hundred pounds. They would have to actually carry one hundred pounds to get Tilt down. Plus, the body would already have began decaying. Which is why it was a memorial service, and not a funeral. All of the members of the Summit Athletic group went to the memorial service. That was a sad sad day for all of the climbers. While Tilt is now dead, he will always be known as the second-youngest climber to summit Everest.

The Great Escapes Of WWII: By George Sullivan

Lt. Alain le Ray was a French officer stuck in Colditz Camp during WWII. He was one of the prisoners being marched back to the prison from an exercise period. He found a spot in a column, and he hid there. he hid there for about half an hour. Afterwards, he snuck away into freedom in the beautiful hills of Switzerland.

Capt. Jurgen Wattenberg was a German naval officer in WWII. He used to be the navigator of a German battleship, the Graff Spee. when the vessel was sunk, the British imprisoned him in Argentina. But he soon escaped, and returned to Deutschland. Treated like a hero, Wattenberg was given command of a submarine. The British sunk it in The Caribbean in 1942. He and his fellow officers were first put in Trinidad, but then moved to some American P.O.W. Camps. After his arrival in the U.S., he was in camp after camp after camp. His appearance never failed to induce rioting and bloodshed. The Americans called him a "Super 🤬". In '44, they moved him to Papago Park, a camp in central-southern Arizona. He and a few other German soldiers had been dreaming of escape for a long time. They decided that a bathroom was a good place to start. Using shovels for carrying coal to prisoners bedrooms, they first dug a six foot shaft. They worked in groups of three. The first man used a shovel and pick, and scooped out the dirt. The second emptied it into a pail. The second passed the bucket to the third, who emptied it, and was also a lookout. they swiped lightbulbs, and created a four wheeled cart, and the digging went more quickly. But the dirt was a big issue. two other officers figured that they could make a sports compound and play volleyball. It .would create a flat surface to play on and no one would expect a thing. Lt. William S. Watson met with them and agreed that it would be a good idea. With that out of the way, it only took them a couple more weeks to finish digging. And on December 23, 1944, they escaped. but not for long. The longest that on of them was on the loose was about two months.

In April 1944, two prisoners from Auschwitz Camp outside of the Polish-Czechoslovakian and Austrian borders. It essentially completed a triangle of the three borders. There are lots of escapes from Auschwitz, but I am talking about only one, Siegfried Lederer. In late 1943, Lederer arrived at Auschwitz. He was involved with a Czech resistance group that had sabotaged huge industrial plans for the 🤬's. After his role with the anti-🤬 group was discovered, he was brought to Theresienstadt, a ghetto in Czechoslovakia. One day, two thousand people were held at gunpoint and forced to get on to cattle carts and go to Auschwitz. before they left, his papers were stamped with two letters, RU, that stood for "Return Unwanted" He knew that he wasn't making it out of Auschwitz alive. They saw the examples of other prisoners laboring, and then were given living instructions. And then it was lunch time. each prisoner got two slices of bread and a bowl of turnip soup. Every prisoner had an identification card with them, that listed basic information. Lederer's read, "Dangerous: political" This was because of his anti-🤬 involvement. They were then asked to strip down to their underwear, and were given striped orange uniforms. They all had numbers tattooed on their arms. Siegfried got 17052. he spoke German, so he was put as a block man, who oversaw his living block. He got a cruel excuse for an office, but it sufficed. he was off duty and wanted to talk to a warm and friendly 🤬 SS soldier, Viktor Pestek. he stated his name, and his crime. he also said that he was escaping. Viktor said that he wouldn't tell anybody. They talked about what he would do back in Czechoslovakia, and he said that the resistance would take him back. They questioned him until he bled about another resistor, but he would not speak. They made a pact, that if the officer let Lederer escape, he would bring someone with him. He was given an SS uniform, and made plans for escape. Viktor revealed that the girl was Rene Karen, a girl that he had fallen in love with. The next day, Pestek rode into the camp on a bicycle, and placed a brown briefcase on it. Inside, were the uniform, pistol, and holster. As Lederer grew more accustomed to the skull and bones logo, a guard questioned who they were. they said SS officers. Pestek said that he was visiting his sick parents in Rumania, which he was. After a few more checkpoints, they were out. He got identification from a friend of Viktor's, and nobody questioned him, because of his uniform. He made it to Prague, then returned to Theresienstadt, where he was crucial in the downfall of the 🤬's in Czechoslovakia.

This book by Sharon Creech is about Salamanaca Tree Hiddle, who after her mother left, was in ruin. But it is her mother's birthday, so she, her Gram and Gramps travel from Ohio, where she was staying, to Lewiston Idaho, where her mother was residing. They got bored along the trip, so she gave them an in depth explanation of what happened to her friend Phoebe, and her mom. Phoebe and Sal were the best of friends when Sal lived in Ohio. Phoebe's parents were very boring. So boring that they in fact ate the same thing everyday. But Phoebe starts getting letters from a madman, and after the third letter comes, she goes to return it to the sender. After contacting the police, and thinking about it long and hard, they figure out that her mom is at OSU. And the murderer sending the letters turns out to be her long lost brother. So her mom searching out the murderer makes sense after all. After the story ends, it is important to acknowledge Sal's Gram's age. She goes into cardiac arrest just outside of Lewiston, and ends up dying. Gramps lets Sal drive the rest of the way to Lewiston. And we find out that Gram isn't the only one who has died. Sal was actually going to see the bus wreck. Her mother happened to be on that bus. Everyone died but one person. That one person was Sal's incredible neighbor, Mrs. Cadaver. And the book ends with Sal crying in front of her mother's grave. In the end, her father, gramps, and herself move back to their house in Kentucky.

David is important because he has freaking autism. At least that is how it seems in Catherine's head. All that Catherine wants is for David to stop being annoying. But over the summer, a girl named Kristi moves in next door. Kristi becomes friends with the neighborhood bully, Ryan. Ryan seems nice, even to David. But he will always say the things that he knows annoy David to the max. But then Catherine meets Jason at David's therapy. Jason is not your average kid. He is mute. He cannot talk, so he must use flashcards to talk to people.
