how and why did my family come to the united states

my mom came to the us when she was around 15 years old with her mom and dad. the rest of her siblings where already here and since she is the youngest out of all of them she was the only one left staying at home. in my interview i did with my mom you can hear me asking her why she came to the us. her answer was that she didn't have no choice and just around fifteen years old she came to the us because her parents wanted a better life for themselves and be closer to their kids. the ones that had already moved here

what where the obstacles that they met

my mom had trouble learning English and so did my grandparents. to this day they haven't 100 percent learned how to speak English properly but are getting much better at it by the day. as for my mom, she struggles with English but is so much better than she was before. i help her out and shes learning and can speak English fluently

what was going on historically in the U.S during the time and did it affect your family

im not sure anything was really going on. they only came here a couple yeaqrs ago. my mom and dad say that they dont remember anything like that going on at the momment they came that affected them a lot.
