         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>When?</strong> June, 1920</p><p><strong>Where? </strong>Vilnius </p><p><strong>What happened?</strong> There was a provisional border drawn up between Lithuania and Poland. A Polish general marched into Vilnius and occupied Vilnius. The people questioned the actions of the general as coming from the Government. They also questioned why the League did not use Article 16. Poland was also close with France and were protected. </p><p><strong>Result?</strong> Occupation of Vilnius continued and there was no war. </p><p><strong>Outcome of decision? </strong>Vilnius' occupation was allowed to continue. At the Conference of Ambassadors in March, 1923 they decided to recognise Vilnius as a part of Poland</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Greco-Bulgarian Crisis</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>When?</strong> October, 1925</p><p><strong>Where?</strong> On the border of Greece and Bulgaria (Petrich)</p><p><strong>What happened?</strong> A Greek soldier chased a stray dog into the border and a Bulgarian shot the soldier. Two Greek soldiers were killed. Bulgaria had evidence that Greek soldiers vandalised the country when they invaded. </p><p><strong>What was the outcome?</strong> The League council awarded compensation to Bulgaria 30 million levas and Greece paid. </p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The corfu incident </p><p><mark>Where?</mark> Corfu Greece </p><p><mark>when?</mark>August  1923 </p><p><mark>What happened </mark>? 5 Italians where killed in the Greek/Bulgarian border for the Conference of Ambassadors. One of them was The Italian general Tellini. </p><p><mark>What was Italy answer </mark>? The general Mussolini decided to occupied the island of Corfu to force Greece to pay compensation. This was because Greece could not arrest anyone for the crime. </p><p><mark>What was the result of the League of Nations</mark> ? Because Italy was a part of the Council they did not act article 16. In fact Italy had committed an act of war but this injustice was not punished by the other Great Powers. </p><p><mark>Why they didn't when to war? </mark>Because Italian forces did not stay in Greek territory for long.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Aland Islands </p><p><mark>Where ?</mark> Between Finland and Sweden </p><p><mark>When?  </mark>June 1920 </p><p><mark>What happened</mark> ? Sweden wanted The Aland Islands because 95% of the population were ethic Sweden, but the islands belonged to Finland </p><p><mark>What was the League of Nations response ?</mark>The League investigated and decided to leave the Islands to Finland to set a precedent. IF they had given to Sweden the islands they would have disputes about all of the other minorities groups in Europe.But they made a compromise. The compromise was that the Sweden on the islands continued to have autonomy to preserve traditions and customs such as language </p>]]></description>

That Upper Silesia was an industrial country and both Poland and Germany wanted it.
