This week's reading was fun! I am definitely more knowlegdeable of what research design entails.I think in the past I used quantitative and qualitative methods loosely when conducting research but now I understand when it is most appropriate to use either or both. Some topics under conceptualization and measurement were not new to me given I read about them whilst doing statistics. However, going through the material again sure shed some new light on the concepts especially the different levels of measurement used by researchers.Sampling was most captivating as I learned about the how to select a sample, the factors that affect sampling and the sampling strategy chosen by the researcher. In addition, Snowballing and Judgement Sampling were unheard of to me before.I am happy I got to read about it and research it further. The highlight of completing unit 4 was getting to create the concept map.It was a first time experience for me and it was indeed fun.I struggled a bit in starting it off but I managed quite well.I was indeed impressed with myself.I am sure to use this new skill in other areas of my career and school life with UWI.
Moreover, the use of the videos throughout the unit really did help in further explaining the concepts and making it easier to understand.I enjoyed this part of this week's reading.I look forward to next week as each week continues to build on each other.
