She and her siblings used to go to a clubhouse where they believed in&nbsp; humanistic values, Jewish self-labor, and a building back in the Jewish homeland in Palestine. Her family was relocated to the ghetto of Lodz, Poland when the war started. In 1944, she was deported to Bremen, Germany for forced labor. She was eventually liberated around 1945.<br><br>Fun Fact - When she and her family was relocated, her family struggled to find food and her younger brother was severely ill and was internally bleeding. One night, she crept out one night, stealing potatoes from a nearby field from where she worked.</div>]]></description>

It wasn't until later on in June, Lisl and her parents were deported there. That following September, Lisl and her family were transferred to Auschwitz with&nbsp; other 5,000 Jews. Unfortunately, four other Jews volunteered to go which pushed her off the list and had to be sent back to Terezin. Lisl stayed in Terezin until the war was over and worked on making gas masked. After the war, Lisl learned that her family was killed at Auschwitz.<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

Being moved around a lot, her family was eventually separated, and Susan was the only one to survive.
