The Minister asked Mr.Hooper if he is ready to take off his veil before he dies. Mr.Hooper agrees at first but when they go to take it off him he panics and sits up straight. "Never" said Mr.Hopper and he asks everybody "Why do you tremble at me alone" and says they should "Tremble also at each other!". Elizabeth asked why he was wearing it and why he wouldn't take it off even for her.
