Hello, my name is Tuğba SEZER. I am a Social Studies Teacher at Turkey Ankara Kahramankazan Fatih Secondary School. I am an educator who does his job with passion, encourages positive learning environments, and is devoted to his students. I have had the privilege of working with students of all ages and backgrounds.

I am an active member of the e-Twinning network community, I am also involved in Erasmus+ projects. I firmly believe that collaborating with educators from across Europe on innovative projects for both Erasmus+ and eTwinning is essential to creating a vibrant and supportive classroom community.

Fatih Secondary School students watched videos about what to do regarding energy saving in classes throughout the week. In the courses that emphasized the necessity of turning to sustainable and clean energy sources in order to meet the energy needs of future generations and minimize the damage to the environment, students once again became aware of the place of energy in human life. They applied the knowledge they gained about energy saving at home and thus took a step towards a sustainable world. Students of Fatih Secondary School, which is also an eco school and has a white flag, emphasized the importance of saving energy and using renewable energy sources in the video they created about using energy efficiently in their homes.

In this activity, my 6th grade students discovered different emotions as a part of "Social and Emotional Learning" with the "Wordwall Emotions Game", which allows different emotions to be expressed in different ways. The expressions, emotions and movements given in the game by spinning the wheel of fortune were first explained by a few of my volunteer students. Then they had their classmates guess the expression. This activity contributed to the development of emotional awareness, empathy and communication skills in my students.

"Selling Oil-Selling Honey" Game in Our Traditional Games

Unforgettable moments were experienced on the streets during our friendship event. One of our traditional games, "I Sell Oil-I Sell Honey", not only provided entertaining moments but also established strong bonds between the participants. While the participants had a pleasant time singing songs along the line, their feelings of friendship and solidarity were strengthened. While this event kept our cultural heritage alive by reminding us of our traditional games, it also aimed to increase friendship and unity on the streets. The smiles on their faces at the end of the game revealed the success of the event.

The events organized in collaboration with the TEMA Foundation at our school were a significant step in reinforcing environmental awareness and love for nature while also contributing valuable experiences to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)-focused education. Ankara TEMA Etimesgut District Representative, Ms. Hatice ERTÜRK, and her team delivered an awareness seminar on "Biodiversity" in our school's conference hall, providing students and teachers with scientific insights into the richness of ecosystems, environmental issues, and ways to protect nature. The seminar not only helped students develop environmental awareness but also enhanced their analytical thinking skills within STEM fields.
During the event, teachers and students who became members of the TEMA Foundation received their membership cards, proudly becoming part of this meaningful initiative. Since all classes became TEMA volunteers, our special education class and 8/D class were honored with a TEMA leaf award for their dedicated efforts in environmental responsibility. The most impactful part of this event was when TEMA representatives and volunteer students planted saplings in our school garden, fulfilling their responsibility for environmental protection and reforestation. Sapling planting allowed students to apply their learning in biology, environmental science, and engineering to real-life contexts. This event not only strengthened students' love for nature but also demonstrated their commitment to creating a sustainable world through STEM-driven education.

As part of the World Water Day activities, our students came together to create a poem emphasizing the vital importance of water and the necessity of using it wisely. Each student contributed their unique ideas and verses, resulting in a poem that strongly conveys the message that water is an indispensable resource for life. Through their words, they highlighted that water is a finite treasure and that its preservation is crucial for future generations. Their creative and meaningful work produce.

Fatih Secondary School students took the stage at the 110th anniversary celebration of the Çanakkale Victory with a folk dance performance, one of the valuable elements of our culture. Through their performance, the students conveyed the spirit of heroism and national values of the past, creating an emotional and memorable experience for the audience. Dressed in traditional costumes, they reflected the significance of the Çanakkale Victory through folk dances, both preserving cultural heritage and expressing their deep respect for history. This special performance not only strengthened the sense of national unity among the youth but also offered a cultural feast for the spectators. As one of the most meaningful moments of the celebration, this display formed a valuable bridge connecting the past with the future.

Enriching with Values, Together…

As we come to the end of our eTwinning project carried out within the scope of values education, we are also taking the final step of a journey — one that touched hearts and inspired meaningful learning.

Through this project, our students have gained not only academic knowledge but also values they will carry for life, such as respect, love, empathy, tolerance, responsibility, and cooperation. In each activity, they learned to make decisions together, respect different opinions, and be sensitive to society and nature. Most importantly, they discovered the meaning of being valued and giving value — by living it.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who guided and supported this meaningful process — especially to the project founder Tuğba YILMAZ and co-founder Linda PODRUG, to all our dedicated teachers, and to our students whose open hearts made this journey possible. This was not merely a project; it was a journey of values. And this journey has inspired us all with hope for the future.

Looking forward to reuniting in new projects ahead…
