It is my first of internship at Robina Flooring SDN BHD. I met 2 of the trainee too when i reached. Then, Ms Chew(admin) helps us done with the thumbprint. After that the staff over there give some safety briefing and the admin (Kak Yati) also briefed us for some rules and regulations. Ms Chew was also introduces all the staffs for us and them. After that, Sree (marketing clerk) asked me to see through the company catalog and the website to know more about the products.

After lunch, Sree taught me how to use the ERP system and it also known as style line. Key in those Po code, PI date and so on.

It is the second day of internship and i reach office by 7.59am. I double check with the ERP yesterday and check for the email. After that i was told to meet my manager (Jojo) for discuss about the scope of the job. She was asked about my study and some knowledge and also skills. We were also discussed some of the cultures in Kelantan too~

I went home for lunch at 12.20pm and return at 1.15pm. After that sree gave me some packing detail and logistic knowledge in the company while waiting for Mr. Yong to teach me the marketing checklist (domestic/export). There had 11 incoterm such as EXW, FCA, FAS, FOB, CPT, CFR, CIF, CIP, DAT, DAP and DDP. It is about the seller reach their products to the buyers, either through carrier or on board in the Port Klang.

After that, Mr.Yong started to teach me how to do the marketing checklist and print it out. Arrange it follow by the PI numbers and customer's name. Then filling all the checklist to their own files according by PI numbers, years and the customer's name.
i done my work at 5.15pm and go for jogging after that to refresh my mind, peach =)

It is the third day and also checking for the email as usual on every morning after reach the office. After that recheck again the order received's file and print out the name of the file to stick beside the file.
I was told to filing the proforma invoice that had been signed from the customer by following the PI numbers.

I had been told to meet Mr.Loo on 12.10pm before i'm going to lunch. He had been asked me some question before i leave due to it is lunch time. It is the first day that i met my marketing manager (Mr.Loo) as he was not around when the time i came in to the office.

I learned how to set up the meeting room before the meeting get started. There have a meeting on every sunday unless the boss was not around and it will be cancel on that day. Took the computer and projector to the meeting room and set it up. There have 3 meeting in one day. 1st meeting is inter department meeting, 2nd is decor paper planner and the last one is sales & marketing department meeting. I had been invite to attend the 3rd meeting today. It is my first meeting my managing director, Mr.Teoh and GM, Mr. Nigel. Both of them are Singaporean. Nice to meeting them =) The meeting was started at 2pm and the 1st meeting will held accordingly. I was attend the 3rd meeting (sale & marketing department) at 4.30pm and 5.50pm the meeting was dismissed. I was then keep the computer and projector too. Go back home after the meeting~

Day 5 (10-02-17)

Came to the office and switch on my computer for checking mail afterward. There were no task given in the morning. After lunch, Sree taught me to take the proforma invoice for write down the name of cc in the bottom of the invoice. The 5 cc were from difference department such as 2 of secretary, finance department, operation department and lastly was logistic department. Photostats each of the invoice and PO into 5 pieces after done to write down the cc below. Arrange all the invoice into 5 sets and then put them into 5 file and waiting one of the kakak to collect the file and delivery to each of the department respectively.

Filing the SRS for year 2016 and 2017 afterward. Sree also assigned me to do marketing checklist based on the proforma invoice. After done done the checklist and print them out, staple it according to PI number and filing them accroding to PI number. I went back on 5.05 pm to go back prepare for annual dinner tonight.

I reach the venue on 7.20pm and take the sign at the table register with getting a towel as a door gift as well. Im sitting together with Robina colleagues and also manager of my department together with others department's manager too. All of them were so friendly and kind as well ~ =) The dinner start on 8.30pm and start with all the GM deliver some speeches. Lucky draw will be the next and the committee were prepare some games for the manager and workers for joining too. The grand prize for the lucky draw was RM5000 and few handphone with the model of J3. Some cash and TF voucher were also given out as a lucky draw gifts. The dinner end on 10.30pm smoothly.

Reach office earlier than previous day. Checking for email as usual. On 10am, Mr.Loo assigned Mr.Yong bring me to have a plant tour to see how the process running and also introduce the workers over there.

Firstly, I was followed Mr.Yong to visit the showroom that for the supplier and also the customer when they are coming to visit our industry for knowing more about our products. The showroom contained the sample of the board with different decor and also the awards of the company. Presentation will carry out over there for the supplier and customers too. Besides, he also explain to me about Robina Unique Feature. There were 4 unique features,

*There were 2 types of overlay, which is AC3 and AC4

Then for the board, Robina Flooring was used high density fiberboard (HDF) that was produced from Robin Group. Mr. Yong explained, for the overlay and decor paper, both of it was 0.1mm and the backer was 0.2mm for the balancing and prevent swollen. We went to the cold room afterward. It was where the overlay, decor paper and backer stored. All of it need to store in the cold room to prevent the glue melted when the temperature is high.

For the sample room or lab, there was stored some sample and also run some test over there. Mr.Yong explained that when the board was done, they will cut 10cm x 10cm to test the board to differentiate the overlay. It used the sanding paper that imported from Europe to run the test. The board that able to cycle 2000 cycles, it was AC3 and 4000 cycle was AC4. They will change the sand paper every 200 cycles to make sure the test was accurate and high quality product.

The process of pressline was backer, overlay and decor paper will stick it together onto the board for 20 second and the temperature around 190 Celsius to 200 Celsius. After done the press, the workers will check the board and marked on the board when the place had some problem or defected. The board needs to wait for 45min to go to the next process. The next process was splitsaw, it will cut the board into half. After that proceed to gangsaw to cut into 10 small pieces. Work in process (WIP) will be the next process. The board need to put aside for cooling or release heat to see its conditioning and also board stability. The next process was profiling line, to make the tongue and groove onto the board and applied VEPS in the same time. Before going packing into the box, the worker will checked the board and took out the board that had been affected. Packing will be also raping it and also stick on the side label. After packing will be palletizing. One pallet able to fix 60 boxes of the board. The product is ready to deliver after all the process were done.

I went back to my place on 12.00pm, to keep my stuff and switch off the computer to get ready to go back home due to saturday was working for half day until 12pm. That's all for today.

Before the meeting start, Sree taught me how to see those report for key in the system. Around 8.30am, i went to meeting room and set up the computer and projector. Meeting start at 9am sharp until 12pm dismiss. Mr,Loo fetch 3 of the Robina trainee that including me to pay a visit at the dealer's showroom that was located at Temerloh. He also share lots of story for us while on the way going to Temerloh. The dealer shop named J&J Furniture. The shop was selling furniture and also sell the flooring start from last 3 years that get the stock from Robina factory. There had 3 floors at the shop and we visited every floor. Mr.Loo was also explained everything's for us in order to gain more knowledge. We went for lunch together with the dealers before went back to the work place. Reached office at 2.15pm and i get started to arrange the report ( master export and local report).
Jojo was ask me to help her check the product matrix before i get back to home. I was sent to her email after i done and went back home after that.

The task today was key in the master report. Sree taught me how to refer from finished order and paste to the master report. Then calculate the total m2 for each decor that order from the customer.

After lunch, Jojo ask me and one of the logistic trainee went to her room and she discuss with us how to do a website and ask both of us create a website together for the company. She was also ask us to choose the theme for the website first.

At 4pm, Sree ask me go to lab and take the sticker for her and I continue my task after that. I do it until 5.30pm but still not complete yet and continue on tomorrow.

It is Saturday and so it is half day of work =D I reached office and continue the task that i had not been done on yesterday. Took quite some time to calculate it due to not balance. It is one of the finished stock that was not key in and made me can not balance it. Sree helped to key in and it finally balance =) . Mr.Loo ask me help him to scan something and email for him when I am doing in the half way. After that, Jojo told me she had send the product matrix for me to check the stock keeping units (SKU). I finished and sent for her before i left the office.

Reached office and started to do the propose phase out decor report. Done with double checking and email to Ms.Jojo afterward. Learned the weekly report before going back for lunch. After lunch, i read through the brochure and also packing detail of the company.
There should be meeting on today but due to the delay of previous meeting, so our sales and marketing department held on tomorrow morning.

Ms.Jojo came and follow up the brochure that she has asked me to present yesterday before went to meeting room. It is a new brochure of the year. I Arranged the brochure that had been printed and make it as a booklet. I went to her room afterward and discuss about it. Make sure all the products was printed into the brochure and searching some picture to add on it.
Ms.Jojo also taught me how to update about the proposal phase out decor.

It is a brand new week a.k.a second week. Im going to warehouse took the stationary that Mr.Yong had requested last Saturday. At 3.30pm, Mr.Loo gave briefing about the company and the products of the company for me and a new came in trainee too. Mr.Loo has also explained the vision, mission and quality policy of the company. I also keep the computers and projector before going back home.

It was 3rd week of the internship. Reach office as usual. The task today is key in the decor turnover refer from the master report ( export and local ). Key all the decor based on the customer name and also the grade. It has two grades which were grade A and grade B. All the total must be same as the master report. After finished the previous task, i learned another one which was sales by calender of the year 2017 and marketers KPI for 2017. Key in the total m² according to the year of the sales and the total m² of the customer. It was also must be balance at the end of the grand total.

The task today is find the country of the customer from sree master report. I do another task which is weekly order monitoring after i done the previous report (marketing KPI 2017).Key the total m² that customer ordered, then key in the thickness and decor part that customer had order and calculate the m2 for the pallet and key in follow by month. Then I photostat 5 copy of each PI for 5 department to check it. Put the document to 5 set of file for the internal post.

It is Wednesday and it suppose has a meeting today but postponed to tomorrow due to the boss are just arrived to the office on 1pm. In the morning, i continue to update the weekly order monitoring report. Arrange those files such as filing Airway bills & Invoice, customer TT slip and complaint form of 2016 and 2017. After that, i went to the factory to take the sample that customer requested. Then, Mr.Loo asked me to go and meet him to ask about this padlet and share some knowledge for me. I sent the template link for Ms.Jojo before i going back home.

Reached office and saw some paper on my table. It was my supervisor ask me to filing in due to she was on leave today. I opened the syteline to see whether the PI was updated. I was updated two of the PI and going for lunch. There have four PI was ~~not~~ update yet. As mentioned yesterday, the meeting postponed to today and so i set up the computer and projector after came back from lunch as was the meeting start from 2pm. I read through the company profile while i'm waiting my turn to go in meeting room. The meeting was dismissed on 6.30pm and i keep all the computer and projector before going back home.

Received a call from the guard house and inform that J&J furniture's lorry arrived our company and waiting the DO to get into the factory. I took the DO to the guard house and allow the lorry to the factory. After lunch, i checked for the stock layout that based on the proforma invoices. It follow by passing the parcel (decor sample) to the company receptionist as requested by Sree. The last task for today is to do the Sale Order Received and Delivered Jan'17.

On 11.30am, Ms. Jojo asked me and the logistic trainee (Chew) to discuss on the e-commerce website. After 15min, we celebrate one of the colleague's birthday (Ms.Anah). We continued the discussion on another 10 min then we go return home as today is half day work!

It was different kind of Sunday, it was company bowling tournament! The event starts on 10.30am, registered with the committee and wait for going in. The first round was choose 15 peoples for female and 20 peoples for male. Second round was the final for both male and female. The prize gave for the 10 female who score the highest score and 15 male. This event dismissed on 2pm smoothly.

Outstation Day~
