A man named Mr. Jones was the owner of a farm named the Manor Farm. He mistreated his animals and did not take care of them correctly, he was also drunk most of the time.

Conflict: The humans mistreating animals, so Old Major makes a stand

Old Major, a pig on the farm, also their leader, was tired of not being treated equally to the humans, so he called a meeting to all of the animals. In the meeting he made the 7 commandments for the animals to follow to give them order and for them not to turn like the humans.

Climax: The pigs turning like humans

Shortly after the speech Old Major gets shot by Jones because their singing at the meeting was loud. After that the other pigs in the farm became leaders and learned how to read and write. Snowball, a pig, was trying to follow the 7 commandments and stick to Mr. Jones wishes that he left behind, but Napoleon and Squealer had other plans. They first fought against humans and won. After that they ran Snowball out of the farm, manipulated the animals, lied, changed the 7 commandments, and then started to turn like men. They slept on beds, they wore clothes, they lived in the house, and even started drinking beer.

Resolution: Pigs are basically humans

When this happened no animal had hope anymore, they didn't get the freedom they thought that they were fighting for. The pigs turned out just like the humans and controlled the whole farm, that they renamed into animal farm.
