I was told to keep an eye on my messages, as they would send out an exclusive offer soon. I was on standby, eagerly anticipating that promotion email. I checked my inbox several times each day, hoping for a deal that would finally bring this dream trip within reach. But, as luck would have it, the airline sent the promotion overnight on a Saturday, right when I’d finally let my guard down.

Since it was the weekend, I didn’t think to check my email first thing on Sunday. When I finally got around to it on Monday morning, I saw the promotional email buried under a stack of other messages. My heart sank as I opened it, only to find that the deal had already expired—I’d missed the boat on a golden opportunity to save on my dream trip.

Looking back, I realized I should have set up an alert to notify me the instant the message arrived, especially given how fast these deals tend to go. Missing the boat taught me a valuable lesson: sometimes, a little extra preparation can make all the difference when it comes to capturing once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.

That day, I received a call from him, which I thought was really weird. Wasn’t he supposed to be at the test? Then, he told me that he was late and wouldn’t be able to take it. We’ve all seen videos of people being late for ENEM, but I never imagined that would happen to a friend. I said to him: “I cannot believe you were late! You studied for months!” He sounded very nervous when he answered: “I was so close! I cried the entire day. If I’d just left home five minutes earlier…”

I felt bad for him, I know how much he studied, so I told him: “Don’t push yourself so hard. You missed the boat, but another one’s coming next year! This was only your first try. If you need any help we can study together. Next year, when you walk in there with total confidence, you’ll show up on time and absolutely crush it.”

I think that helped him a little bit, but I know that it must’ve been a horrible experience for him and I hope he doesn’t miss the boat next year.

I missed the boat a long time ago when apps became very popular and everyone was creating apps for everything.

Now I have a new opportunity with artificial intelligence, and I'm not going to miss the boat again because I have started studying it.

I will try to introduce AI into every solution I propose or when I can put it in.
