Population growth is one of the most important topics in the world. (1) this is because it is changing a lot, this is because the use mdical care, food and water has became more and more available and more reliable (2). Most people think that these are good thing but unfortunaltly they also drag a lot of negative consequences with them and this is terrible for the earth(2). This is why I choose to research the negative impact of population growth. For this i have the research question: why do people not realize that population growth has negative consequences?

-Anne

Population growth is one of the most important topics to be covered. Population growth is the increase in the number of humans on Earth. For most of human history, it was pretty stable, but as the humans advanced (2), the population growth rapidly increased. After a period of rapid growth (1), it is expected the world population will peak by the end of this century. Technology and teamwork (2) will be needed to help us humans adapt to the large population. So how has- and will the large population growth influence us and how can we adapt to it?

Population growth is a very important topic in the world right now. For the majority of human history the population has been quite stable. But over the last few decades the population has gone through a rapid change going from 1 billion people to today with more than 8 billion people(1). This is due to innovation and industrialisation, what caused for more energy, food, water, and medical care became available and reliable(2). With this rapid increase in population we will need more technological and social innovation, but how can we use that to support the world’s population as we adapt further?

The amount of people on earth has increased rapidly over the past centuries. In the year 1800, there were only 1 billion people (1), however, because of industrialization, improving of water and food and since healthcare improved, numbers increased drastically (2). It is estimated that in the coming century, (about 2100) the amount of people on earth will have increased to about 15 billion (1). So, the real question is: how long can the earth "survive” with the increasing amount of people?

In the 1800s only one billion people lived on this earth. In a little more then 200 years this number has increased 8 times its original, which is a lot. This increase in people is called population growth. Because if innovation and industrialization, energy, food, water and medical care have become better. Because of this rapid growth, the ecosystem will suffer in ways we will not be able to stop on a short-term basis. How will we be able to decrease this population to try and not ruin the earth?

Alissa

Population growth is one of the most important topics. It means that there is an increase in the number of humans on earth. (2) For a long period it was very stable, but over the last few centuries the human population has gone through an extraordinary change. It grew from one million to more than 8 billion. Demographers expect the population to climax by the end of this century, because it’s a long period of very fast growth. (1) This has dramatic impacts on global climate and ecosystems so we will need technological and social innovations to support the world's population. My research question is: "Is population growth a problem we can solve as human beings?"

The human population has remained at a steady amount for most of human history, until now. In 1800 there were 1 billion people in the world after 1800 the human population has increased exponentially to the 8 billion that it is today. However even with a massive population the distribution of all those people is vastly different from what you would expect, for starters the most humans live in the northern hemisphere and most of the population is concentrated around water like rivers and seas. 1.

My research question is: What are the effects of a growing population on human civilisation?

Quinten

Population growth is one of the most important topics right now. The increase in the number of humans on Earth. Because of innovation, industrialization, engergy, food, water and medical care became more available and reliable(2). In 1800, there were one billion people, today there are more then 8 billion people. Demographers expect the world population to peak at the end of this century(1). This causes many problems which will need new innovations and technology to support the world population as we have to adapt to help support this population. So my research question is: how will we be able to support the population when it is at it's peak?
