I think that it is bad to have thought because when you have thought you think about all of your problems. With existentialism you live up to the point when you die, all the in between is suffering which is your problem in which you think about them.

I think that he means because having to think builds up emotions and that could cause suffering. Referring back to the theme of existentialism meaning you live only to die at the end of your life. So basically, all your thoughts are making you suffer as you are suffering through life.

Since the play is based off existentialism , to be an existentialist you avoid suffering. So when it comes to thinking, it develops emotions. Emotions are numerous of things and if they are bad thoughts, well that causes bad emotions which lead into suffering. Suffering within yourself, which is something an existentialist avoids.

They put that to show the theme of existentialism more. Existentialists believe that once you are born, you are just waiting to die. In that time that you're waiting, there is a lot of suffering. When people are suffering, others usually tell them to "do something" with their time so they'll get their mind off of whatever is making them suffer. So since Vladimir is an existentialist, he believes that you suffer all the time therefore you shouldn't think.

The main theme of the play is existentialism, so I believe the quote means that your thoughts and emotions. make you suffer. The only way to escape your thoughts will be when you die. That is the main point of existentialism you are born to suffer until you die. They are emotions that will make you feel horrible and will cause you to suffer that is why Vladimir says it is such a terrible thing.

The play is mostly based of on existentialism. Existentialism is mostly how when you are born, you are only waiting to die. The meaning of the quote is based on when they're waiting for Godot, there is a lot of suffering going on. When you suffer you have to get your mind off of things by "doing something". You don't want to "think" about the problem. So basically the "thought" about something can make you suffer, which you will be suffering until the day you die.

When they are waiting for Godot, there is a lot of suffering going on. They are just living to die, they believe because of all their suffering. So basically your thought and memories and emotions makes you think things are worse than they really are.

I think that he meant that having thought is terrible because you can think about all of the bad things. Like an existentalist believes that you only live to die. Thinking will cause you to think about all of your pain and what you had suffered throughout your life.

Vladimir means that thinking is not the worst because it calms suffering. But it is terrible to have thought of something that you want to happen. When didi and gogo wait for Godot each day when he doesn't show up, they want to be saved but are forced to wait and think.

I believe he means that it is horrible to be alive. You can only have thoughts if you are alive, not when you are dead. So he would rather be dead and not have any thoughts.

Vladimir means that thinking that it is not that bad to have to wait because it will calm a lot of suffering for them having to wait for godot
