Volunteering isn't about me, it's about the beneficiaries. I have be given more through volunteering than I have given to beneficiaries, I am quite sure of it. Volunteering is a learning journey for me.

This also means DOT will have to put up with me who will not be going away as a volunteer any time soon, haha.

My heart becomes more full everytime I interact with the women during DCC and I realized I gained much more in return than what I intended to give! My soul is rejuvenated by the energy I receive from these amazing women and it tells me that they are surely capable of achieving much much more than what they've been limiting themselves to. Being a volunteer trainer for DCC has been a most humbling experience for me and I am excited to work with DOT to empower our daughters of tomorrow to enable them to achieve more meaningful and fulfilling lives for themselves and their families!

Right from the engaging Befriending training program to meeting my first beneficiary, each moment has been inspiring and enriching to me personally. When I see the daunting obstacles that my beneficiaries surmount on a daily basis, that too with so much grit and determination, I wonder why I get vexed even at the smallest inconveniences that I encounter. It has made me introspect and become a better individual. I have seen the lives of beneficiaries getting uplifted and transformed after securing jobs through Daughters of Tomorrow. 2022 brings forth limitless possibilities with the end of the pandemic in sight. Volunteering with DOT has been such a rewarding experience and being able to help and support a strong community of women has been an experience I will carry with me for the rest of my life. It is truly inspirational to see the work these women do and having first hand experienced the love, warmth, and compassion exhibited by these programs is energizing.

In each monthly talk therapy, I feel uplifted and supported even though i am supposed to be the coach. I feel that I have absolutely received more than I have given. Through each monthly talk, we all get to know one another a little better, the strengths and the struggles that we all go through. I feel really privileged to be part of this journey and group, and I hope I can continue to contribute a little more each time.

May 2022 be a year filled with more joy and blessings for all of us.

You know how to create the ideal environment for making hearts and minds grow! From the initial conversations, the onboarding workshops, poverty sensitization virtual game to and the actual work with “the ladies” (beneficiaries) and us, the volunteers.

In the past year, I have been humbled by women in challenging situations. Their willingness to grow, their zeal and their joy have enriched my live forever.
I have learned a lot. Of course, I was a bit anxious: Will the ladies understand me, will I understand them, will they accept me? DOT facilitated all this in a very light-weight, yet very experienced, professional and compassionate way. You are a great team at DOT and I admire the way you run your mission. Keep on your great work. We are all Daughters of Tomorrow!

Through corporate events, I get to know DOT, since then I was inspired and determined to do more when I am ready. I am now a newbie befriender but it had been such an inspiring journey. We are not the ones helping women, it is a two way experience. As we listen to them, we learn from them and we grow together with them. I am full of gratitude to hear that my support for them means a lot to them, when all I'm doing is just being there for them.
I look forward to more fruitful experience and learning opportunities with DOT.
