It had been the primary all-purpose electronic computer that is intended by William Mauchly and John Eckert in 1942. However, the machine was completed in 1945. It had been designed to calculate artillery firing tables to be utilized by us Army’s trajectory research lab to assist North American country troops throughout war II.</div>]]></description>

Vannevar <a href="https://www.infoplease.com/encyclopedia/science/engineering/electrical-bios/bush-vannevar">Bush</a> built a mechanically operated device, called a differential analyzer, in 1930; it was the first general-purpose analog computer. John <a href="https://www.infoplease.com/encyclopedia/science/engineering/computer-bios/atanasoff-john-vincent">Atanasoff</a> constructed the first electronic digital computing device in 1939; a full-scale version of the prototype was completed in 1942 at Iowa State College (now Iowa State Univ.).          <description><![CDATA[<div>Computers made in the fourth generation were based on the microprocessor, which was the extended version of the third generation of computers. These computers used VLSI circuitry, and the period of this generation was 1971 to 1980. On a single chip, the VLSI and LSI techniques are contained by a microprocessor to package millions of transistors. VLSI stands for large-scale integration and LSI stands for large-scale integration. In modern times, computer speed and memory have increased dramatically, while cost and size have dramatically decreased.<br>&nbsp;The characteristic of the fourth generation of computers was that associated with the process of creating an integrated circuit (IC) with the help of the combination of several transistors on a single chip, as these computers used VLSI technology. For example, due to the technology used to build fourth generation computers, they came with various features like more versatile, large primary storage capacity, excellent in speed and reliability, portable, very compact and small, etc. In this generation, computers have become more popular because they are sold at the lowest price. Furthermore, the personal computer (PC) revolution has also developed due to the capabilities of fourth generation computers.</div>]]></description>

Since the beginning of this generation and until today, there have been several processes of reducing physical space. Smaller and smaller computers are created every day.&nbsp;</div><div>The milestone in this evolution, to get to computers as we know them today, was the invention of operating systems, of which Windows is an example. These systems allow several programs to be running at the same time, giving great flexibility to the use of the computer.</div><div>Because of all this, computers began to become cheaper, more “friendly” and more “useful” to ordinary people. Therefore, especially since the 1980s, computers have begun to become popular, and today they are a reality for millions of people worldwide.</div>]]></description>
