Although food service jobs can sometimes be looked down upon, and the work environment is not suitable for everyone, Chick-Fil-A is still a great place for teenagers to work during highschool and college, and teaches them valuable life and job skills that most people need for their career paths in the future.

As someone who has worked there for nearly 3 years, there is loads of reasons why someone should work at Chick-Fil-A

1) Reputation

The Chick-Fil-A company has an outstanding reputation. This job looks phenomenal on your resume. This is a prestigious company, and everyone knows CFA for their great customer serivce, fast drive thru, and the "my pleasure". When an interviewer sees CFA on your resume, they're instantly impressed, and they know that you can deal with customers.

2) Community

Working at CFA, I can proudly say the community and coworkers are (for the most part) amazing. I would always work after school, so I'd be working with all teenagers my age. Some of them I already knew and I was already friends with, but I also met new people from different schools and got to become better friends with them too. I didn't have a lot of friends in school, just my close group of people, so Chick-Fil-A really helped me branch out and gain the confidence I needed to grow into the person I am today. I learned how to deal with people, not only customers, but other coworkers as well. And working in a fast food restaurant, you got to see many different types of people, which helps you to prepare even more for your future workplace.

3) The scholarship

While working at CFA, you can apply for the Remarkable Futures Scholarship and win a minimum of $1000, and get up to $25,000. I personally applied last year and I got $1000, which helped me out a lot this semester. I also know a couple people from my store who got $2,500. You can get this scholarship yearly, as long as you work a certain amount of hours throughout the year. The scholarship alone is a great reason to work for this company.

As previously stated, I've worked at Chick-Fil-A for nearly 3 years, since January of 2022 to be exact. Ive seen loads of people come and go, and I know the store in and out. I've also worked my way up to become a Shift Leader, which is pretty easy to do if you like to be in leadership.

In conclusion, CFA is just an all around great place to work. The job its self looks great on your resume, it's a great work environment, and you even get the chance to win a scholarship for college. Chick-Fil-A is different than other fast food places, it's not looked down upon, and while it is still food service, you learn valuable life skills, like teamwork, customer service, and even leadership if you choose to go down that path. I think if you can work in a busy environment, you should give CFA a try.

(P.S, if this your first job, you automatically learn how to work in a busy environment and will get adjusted to that very quickly.)

4) Leadership Opportunities

At this job, the ladder of leadership is rather easy to climb. At my store, we have the position of Team Member (what everyone starts out as), Team Leader, Shift Leader, Manager, and General Manager. After about a year of working there, I applied with a group of people to be promoted to Team Leader, and with the training and votes of other staff, I got the promotion. Then, after another year of working that postion, I applied to be a Shift Leader and got that promotion as well. It is the same steps to becoming a manager, it just depends on whether or not the location that you work at needs the position to be filled. You can also work your way up to corporate and work a big job there, working as an Interim Manager, Trainer, Grand Opener, etc. There is tons of positions at CFA corporate.
