In other words they youth use their own slang which changes as the youth do and adult are not always up to date with the current slang.The Russian connotation in the slang is to warn the reader of what society may become if it continus itself along soviet lines.-The main reason for this slang is that if he used everyday langauge or only english , the novel would become  dated .-It shows us a subculture existed among the youth.-At first it also excluded the reader and shields us from the harsh brutality of the violance.
