Prohibition was known as the banning of the production, transportation, and sales of alcohol. Prohibition was difficult thing to enforce because of the Volstead Act. With the increased illegal production of of alcohol and the rise of gang violence , many people supported the idea of ending prohibition. This would soon cause the congress to propose a 21st Amendment that would repeal the 18th Amendment. It officially became ratified later in the year, bringing Prohibition to its end.
