I'm a simple guy, and I don't like the instant-gratification-chasing modern world. I like thinking, contemplating about life, as well as writing- that's why I keep a journal everyday to slow down my rushing thoughts and document the fast-paced life. I also like discovering and learning new things. I n order to satisfy my thirst for knowledge, and to expand my intellectual map, I read books, watch YouTube videos and documentaries. Like I've said before, I don't like instant-gratification, because of the negative effects it has had on me, thus I'm trying my best to stay away from it, and do the things that will grant me long-term gratification. I don't have hobbies or anything; my way of living is to optimize the tasks I have to handle currently, as well as to do the things I truly enjoy. And of course, I have ambitions- I like dreaming a lot- just like a typical teenager. I have many goals, but currently, my focus is to do my best in this class, and to do well in IGCSEs, ultimately to go to a good university and get a good job. Vain sometimes take over me, but I'm trying my best to become more humble. Selfish goals are those that only benefit you, like medals, or awards, and Service Goals are those that contribute to the growth of those around you, and you might profit enjoyment off of that. Since I learnt about that I reflected on my goals, and I think my goals lie in middle of the spectrum-- on neither sides.

The typical definition of ambition would be "what job would you want to get when you grow up?" I have my answer for that, which is a doctor. Initially, I got into this field of expertise because of the prestige, the money that being a doctor comes with. But Rene Girard's Mimetic Theory reminded and taught me that chasing prestige is not the right way to live life, and I expect Medicine to be a very difficult subject to study. However, these days, I've been more intrigued in Human Biology than ever. For me, it's easy and tangible to understand the information since, well, it's about us, humans, and I anticipate that it would be an fascinating niche to dive into.
Hence, my "job I would want to get when I grow up" is a doctor.

But my ambition stretches beyond that. Being a doctor is sort of boring, in my opinion. Clinical rotations, meeting with patients, more learning-- it all sounds too default and repeated. Therefore, I have another dream, which I hope to turn into reality once I make good money, and that is to travel the world. I like travelling more than anything else- even pizza, my favorite food. My ultimate ambition would be to be able to travel the world, write blogs, document my journey, become a great story teller and share it with
the world.

Therefore, the job I want to do would
1) allow me to make good money and gain prestige (selfish goal)
2) help contribute to the growth of society (service goal)

But, the ambition of being able to travel the world is mainly just selfish- it does minorly help the economy of the country I visit. " What's wrong with doing selfish goals?" you might ask. Well, Ali said that service goals are more fun because we are social creatures and we like approval and acceptance-- I agree with that. And I don't want to die travelling the world alone, I still want that dream I have to be a service goal-- how can I do that? Well, that's a question I can only answer once I grow up.

So yeah, this is all about my ambitions.

Planning to chase it although there hasn't been a final decision, yet. It is also seemingly way out of my depth. I've been doing my best to ignore that fact but I'll have to re-acknowledge it at one point. It isn't going to be anytime soon though.

My ambition is to become an astronaut at NASA. Because I would be exploring space as a scientist or a technician. Which, I think is very proficient and basically would be a dream come true.

Once I get a green card and a master's degree in a STEM field at a University. And after I get a few years of professional work experience because it is the job's requirements. Not to mention to be able to pass their flight astronaut physical test.

So, as you can see, it's going to take a lot to reach that stage. But, that doesn't mean I'm not going to back out on it. I'll do what I can and I guess I'll see if I succeed or not. You never know what life throws at you every day, always full of surprises.

I wanted to become a doctor when I was really young like other typical youngsters for the money but I lost interest when I got older and thought of being a geologist because of a movie about a volcano eruption and geologists studying about it. A job that is based on logic and that doesn't involved memorizing much.

Some people would say that "you just probably want to imitate your mom" as my mom is an architect. However, I actually am interested in architecture. I learn basics of architecture from my parents and they sometimes tell me about it which is interesting for me. There is one of the architects that i admire, who is Zaha Hadid (also known as the queen of the curves). I love her attitude and sentiment on architecture. Her designs are incredible and unique.
