What I liked: I liked the figurative language used throughout the book.
What I didn't like: When Odd described missing his father, it made me feel sad!

Favourite Character: The Fox / Loki

Would I recommend this book?: Yes! I would recommend all year 5 children read this book as it is a great adventure story full of tension and surprises.

What I liked: I liked how Odd’s reaction rarely changes. This adds some laughs into the book.

What I disliked: That there’s a dead parent as it happens in every story and film.

Favourite character: Thor/Odd.

Would I recommend this book? Yep! This brung me giggles and wows until I finished it. I am going to have to watch Coraline (it’s by the same author)!

What I liked:The vocabulary and the personality’s of the characters.

What I did not like:When his father died.

Would I recommend this book:Yes I would recommend this book to any year 5 children that like adventure books.

Odd and The Frost Giants

Summary: One snowy morning, Odd left his home village to embark on a life changing journey. A magical book of Gods and Viking legends.

What I liked: I liked it when at the end of the story Odd asked his mother if she would to return to Scotland.

What I don’t like: I found the Frost Giant ugly.

Favourite character: Odd.

Would I recommend this book: Yes I would, it was very entertaining.
