         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Enlightenment period was a time when people were motivated to improve the way that they lived. One of the enlightenment thinkers, Thomas Malthus predicted that the food and resources would become limited. There was many pollution at the time due to factories becoming a big thing. Lots of air and water pollution, 2/3 of the water back than were rally unsafe. As for the "Mother of the Forest", the public were outraged and they had to make a law to protect the trees<br><br></div>]]></description>

The Bhopal disaster which was a massive release of cyanide gas.<strong> </strong>Radioactivity is released into the atmosphere and increased amounts of CO2 present in the atmosphere which causes the Earth’s temperature to rise.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Six and a half million gallons of oil was burned during the oil fire disaster of 1991 in Kuwait. Protestors allege that a plant in China was releasing toxic chemicals as the factory dumps waste in the river and belches heavy smoke. This exposed residents to dangerous levels of pollution and China was also accused of dumping solar panels on the market.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li>&nbsp;How much air pollution was there?&nbsp; Where did it come from? There was a lot of air pollution back then, the ancient Romans were also aware of this problem. Pollution spewed from wood burners, garbage, sewage, and smelting industries.</li><li>How much water pollution was there?&nbsp; Where did it come from? There was not much water pollution because of how scarce clean water was ancient civilizations such as Rome preserved it and used it only when necessary. However things that polluted the air also tanned the water, things like garbage, sewage, and burners.</li><li>How did humans get most of the energy they needed to survive? Humans got most of their energy from water, but also got it from, the sun, wind, and wood.&nbsp;</li><li>Was conservation being practiced anywhere in the world?&nbsp; How? Yes conservation was being practiced, natives in Ur, Mesopotamia protecting the remaining forests and the Romans protecting water during dry periods. Both of these resources were being protected via the law, and were heavily enforced to keep these natural resources.</li><li>Why was lead poisoning a problem? Lead poisoning was a huge problem especially in ancient Rome, lead and mercury miners suffer from these metals. To add, the decline of the Roman empire was partly caused due to lead poisoning.<br><br></li></ol><div><br></div>]]></description>

There was not much water pollution, tending to be less of a problem for dispersed populations, due to the laws revolved around keeping water sources clean.</li><li>How much wood was being harvested?&nbsp; What effects was this having? A lot of wood was being harvested around this era, so much that it lead to heavy amounts of deforestation. Due to the lack of wood, England, France, and Germany switched to coal.</li><li>In what ways was disease affecting the world? Disease was introduced through workmen, specifically those that work in the coal mines, this infectious disease was spread easily throughout European countries, and spread throughout all native american lands that had contact with the Europeans .<br><br></li></ol><div><br></div>]]></description>

He did not care much about the exploitation of resources and its unintended consequences. There is a worldwide public health campaign against the use of leaded gasoline as it has several harmful effects on health and the environment.</div>]]></description>
