The Feynman Technique is a technique named after a well known scientist who won a nobel prize for quantum electrodynamics, the entire idea of the technique is that if you can’t explain it simply, then you don’t understand it well enough.” The technique begins with identifying the concept, you can write the name of the concept at the top of a paper and then explain said concept just below. If you have trouble understanding or applying that concept, identify the areas that you have issues with and refer back to the sources, such as your notes or examples. Next find complicated versions of the concept and simplify them. The idea of the study Ebbinghaus had was about how well he could memorize or retain information, he found out that there was a specific way that he could study that would help him remember information with less studying and without as much effort. This is the spacing effect, and it revolves around learning information, forgetting it, and learning again. Instead of relentlessly trying to memorize information, spend a small amount of time remembering and understanding the subject, and come back to it later. One way that this can be applied is by learning through flash cards, you can separate flash cards into different time periods in which you will study them based on how well you understand those concepts. There are multiple factors that go into what makes someone motivated, what you will be rewarded with after completing your work, the consequences that you will face if you don't do your work, and how easy it is for you to be distracted from your work. To prevent yourself from becoming distracted you can go to a secluded area made for studying. For example if you have an issue with talking to friends instead of working you may want to visit the library to find a quiet place to work without anyone bothering you. To reward yourself with something after doing your work you can give yourself a break to do something you enjoy before getting back into work.
