They pick up sediments and carry it to any location in a posses called Transport Sediments. The far the sediments goes in a stream determines how steep the water flows in gravity. The teachers  go to a watershed in Lake George and show some streams that go from fast, to slow. They show that in the outside of the lake flows faster than the inside. It flows fastest in the middle also.
