When Eddie is floating around in Heaven, he realizes that he is above an ocean. Comparing the sky to an ocean, it literally becomes an ocean, and then a sinkhole. As he is being sucked in by the sinkhole, he realizes two things. Eddie does not feel worry or pain, he is just calm. This is significant and worthy of being noted because this is a scene where Eddie is starting to piece together where he is.

Birthday Cake

On one of Eddie's birthdays, he is about to go leave for the war. As a celebration, Eddie's mother gets him a cake. Along with it, Eddie's family is over to say their goodbyes along with the celebration. This is significant and worthy of being noted because Eddie is going to serve in World War 2 for the first time right before his birthday. Eddie's family, including his either girlfriend/wife, are celebrating his birthday and his leave.

This is significant and worthy of being noted because this is the scene where a few moments later, the Captain had to make a decision between letting Eddie die in the fire or shoot him in the leg to knock him out of it.

The Captain was creating space for his unit and himself because the unit is inside a truck, which holds Eddie, who is unconscious and has a wounded leg. They're also trying to board a plane to leave the Philippines. As the Captain steps foot on the ground with his gun to pave the way for the truck, he accidentally steps on a landmine and his body is blown to pieces. This is significant and worthy of being noted because this is where the start of the lesson that the Captain teaches Eddie, where sacrifices are important to make in your life; even if it costs your own life. The Captain had sacrificed Eddie's knee to keep Eddie alive, while the Captain sacrificed his life to keep the rest of the unit alive.

While we are told the backstory of how cruel Eddie's father was, one of the scenes was Eddie and his brother being beat. From the beatings, there would be hand prints on their window due to Eddie's father making Eddie and his brother turn around. This is significant and worthy of being noted because this was one of the memories Eddie had of his father that made it hard to forgive what he did and move past it. This lesson taught Eddie to forgive and forget, while also showing him another side of his father after this scene.

Snow Circle

In the scene above, Ruby is making a circle of snow where it will present a view of how Mickey, their family friend, almost raped Eddie's mom, and then Eddie's mother is saved by his dad. This also shows Eddie how his dad isn't always abusive; he protects Eddie's mom and saves Mickey's life. Eddie also learns how his father gets pneumonia this way, making him stay in the hospital for years.

Ruby shows Eddie how his father truly dies, and how he was lied to by the nurses. Eddie's father actually dies on top of the window, as he awoke from his coma and tried to jump out the window while calling the names of Eddie's mom, Eddie, and Eddie's brother, Joe. This is significant and worthy of being noted because Eddie gets showed the actual true way his dad had died, as the nurses lied to not lose their jobs. Eddie also feels guilty because he knew that his father loved him when he said their names before his death, yet Eddie always held this hatred for him.

It's Fixed

When Eddie and his father used to work together on the pier, they both would say "It's fixed." towards things that were resolved and also fixed. This was a saying where the two of them bonded, as usually Eddie's father would mostly scare Eddie and he'd never go near him. This is significant and worthy of being noted because Eddie is finally forgiving his father for everything he has done to him, such as neglecting him and abusing him mentally and physically. This was also part of the lesson Eddie had to learn, otherwise he could not move forward.

Fire

When Eddie meets his fifth person, it is a little girl named Tala. Tala turns out to be the little silhouette of a child who he saw in the fire back in the Philippines. This is significant and worthy of being noted because Eddie is able to meet the little girl he tried to save while he was in the war, but was unable to do so due to being shot in the leg by the Captain, which his lesson was you need to make sacrifices in life. In this circumstance, Tala was the sacrifice, plus Eddie's leg.

The Rock

As Eddie apologizes uncontrollably, Tala gives Eddie a way that allows her to forgive him. This way was a form of action which Eddie was supposed to clean off all the scabs and burn marks off of Tala's body, as Eddie was the cause of them. This is significant and worthy of being noted because Eddie was able to come to terms with himself that he unsuccessfully tried to save Tala from her death, but now he has the chance to save her from her pain he had put her in.

While most of us could predict what Eddie's heaven could be, it still proves to us that his dedicated love for Marguerite has never changed. This is significant and worthy of being noted because Eddie's big happiness in his life was Marguerite. Marguerite had opened Eddie's eyes to something bigger, and he only wishes to spend more and more time with her. Eddie had even said to Marguerite he preferred her right before she died over her younger form, though he doesn't mind what she prefers either.

While Eddie is done playing inside his own little heaven, he has to go and wait in a line to be one of the five people for someone else, as other people were the five people waiting in line for him. This is significant and worthy of being noted because Eddie is waiting for the little girl he had saved on the ride, which was a sacrifice and risk Eddie was willing to take, and ultimately killed him. Eddie's lesson to Amy or Annie will be how everyone affects each other and the other affects the next, similar to how the Blue Man taught Eddie that everybody is connected.
