We started our first morning at the host school, Gemeinschaftsschule am Sonnenfeld, where we were welcomed by the Erasmus coordinator, Anne Rischen. The coordinator informed us about the following programme. She also talked about the goals of Erasmus project. However, the first task was to break the ice and start to communicate with each other. 

To support mutual communication we had an social activity where we showed our interests. We revealed our similarities and differences. Next activity started with brainstorming. We had to say what comes first to our mind when we say sustainable food? There were 17 goals of sustainable development on the board. Then we had a game, where each of us got 3 dots and stuck them to the most important sustainable development goals. After, we had a discussion, why those goals were the most important for each student. Each opinion was valuable.

Then after we finished all that we had a little time to study things about climate change and to play some games.

After that we waited more like 10 min. Then, there was an old man who took us to the cinema. So basically that was all about the future because our theme is  'Future is on our plates´, so it was like us in train time travelling to future in the year 2100.

So  there were many tasks that we did and at the end we went to eat the lunch, me and my friend Carlos we ordered some French fries and eat our fruits.

At the end but no least we went to a workshop to do some experiment. It was from 2-3 pm, and i loved it, it was a lot of fun.

Then we went straight to get the train and it was really a awesomely great day!!!!

And after all, the host family i was staying with, they were very friendly with me and they took care of me very well and My host (Gabriel) he is was very kind too. I had a lot of fun with them. (Carlos, Portugal, December/2024)

The Farewell Party on Friday started at 6pm.

Many people brought something to eat, like some cakes, some sweets and more delicious finger food snacks.

When the party started we all sat down, and German students greeted our guests and their families. After their little speech Ms. Rischen came in to tell something too.

Shortly after Ms. Rischen had announced the winners of the rallye through the town of Sachsenheim, each of them got a little Santa Clause chocolate treat.

So after that we cleared out the chairs put them on the side. We had a little disco dance party, everybody danced we had a lot of fun. We had a very loud speaker and led lights with some balloons and the balloons had lights in them too.

This last night, everybody had a blast!

We hung our self-made bird houses on the walnut tree.

At the GMS am Sachsenheim, each year a dodgeball tournament takes place. Classes of lower and secondary school play against each other.

The Portuguese, French and Slovak students formed a team. Although they didn't win the first prize, they had tons of fun!

After lunch at the school cafeteria, we had a workshop: Mr. Wörner, a grandpa from one of the German students, came to school and showed us how to build wooden bird houses!

In a first part, we had to put them together. In a second part, we colored them.

During the workshop, we worked in mixed teams. So we had to discuss in English, of course, and make decisions.
