His theory is a "top down" hierarchy concerning management. The theory included 14 principles and 5 functions of management and was considered one of the leaders in modern management (Mindtools)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1) Division- allowing employees to become specialists in a skill or realm.<br>2) Authority- the manager needs to be able to give orders, directions, lead, and accept responsibility of his decisions.<br>3) Discipline- manage must be able to be thoughtful with sanctions and execute fairness.<br>4) Unity- 1 direct supervisor <br>5) Unit of Direction- one goal, one objective, one plan, executed by different teams managed by same supervisor.<br>6) Subordination of Individual Interest to Great Interest- The groups best interest in priority and proceeds any individual interest<br>7) Remuneration- equality for all employees including financial but not limited to.<br>8) Centralization- allowing employees to have a say in decision making<br>9) Scalar Chain- knowledge of the hierarchy and where one falls on the chain of command.<br>10) Order- clean, organized, safe environment for all workers<br>11) Equity- managers should be fair at all times and implement discipline when needed<br>12) Stability of tenure personnel- minimize employee turnover; keep employees within organization/company<br>13) Initiative- permitting employees to be creative, innovative and carry out plans.<br>14) Esprit de Corps- promote Teamwork and Unity (Kukreja, Mindtools)</div>]]></description>

Fayol believed one of the most important ideal a manager needed, was to be authoritative and responsible. To him, managers were an official position due to their intelligence, experience, moral worth and past experiences (Kukreja). </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Administrative Management was often consider too puritan as it lacked detailed guidelines. Between the 1950s and 1980s, critics claim Fayol's Administrative Management needed more than simple principles to follow; more detail needed to be included on how the organization works from the inside, making predictions for future instead of assumptions, and clarify relationships to phenomenon (Brunnson). Another argument was that Administrative Management kept the managers afar from the employees preventing them from witnessing and seeing the work (Brunnson, 2008, p.36). </div>]]></description>
