         <description><![CDATA[<div>In chapter 10, Scout and Jem are given air riffles for Christmas with little to no experience on how to use or shoot it. Although, Atticus, who has the best shot in the county, shots a dog from a distance and kills him in one shot, leaving Scout and Jem amazed. Scout wanted to go to school and brag about Atticus's skills but Jem says not too. He claims that if Atticus was proud of his capabilities, he would've told people himself. </div>]]></description>

This shows indirect characterization because its's showing Atticus's personality by not wanting to harm an animal that doesn't have the right to be harmed.
