I grew up in what used to be a small town called Rockwall, Texas (now a much larger town). Some of my best friends growing up were the typical country music cowboys. They wore boots to school and drove lifted trucks blaring country music. I discuss in my report that I've learned over my years how special this kind of music is to my friends, yet it does not resonate with me. I have learned that this kind of music represents joyful, happy times in my friends lives and I can see how they enjoy revisiting those feelings. I enjoy my favorite music in the same way, listening to the songs attached to my favorite memories.
