The Greek contribution that I choose was the democracy. The reasons I choose democracy for the contribution was because It gave people a voice. It was a chance to share how they feel about the situation. Pericles did a speech that was "men didn't die in vain" meaning they died with skill and they died with a purpose. It also started equality for all in law. When you served on jury duty you would get a stipend meaning you got paid money. Democracy is still used today worldwide. Those are the reasons why I choose democracy as the contribution that helped us today.

Our lives are constantly surrounded by math and science, whether or not you are a mathematician or a scientist. Greece was a Classical Civilization, meaning it was a highly organized civilization that contributed many things to modern day life. One of the many contributions of Greece is science and math, perhaps the greatest achievement of the Greeks. No matter how much people complain about the annoyance of science and math; it is a fact of life that our very essence as human being to be surrounded by science and math. Student study these subject in their academic career, and many adults choose to pursue a career in these subjects. Math, geometry specifically, is found in art and architecture, and people can find themselves do math almost everyday of their lives. Our very existence is the essence of science, we are constantly reminded of biology and chemistry that is always around us. Pythagoras, an early mathematician from Ancient Greece, created a formula that high school geometry students still use to this day, the pythagorean theorem. Hippokrates is one doctor from Ancient Greece who is attributed to being the "father of modern medicine," and the one to create the Hippocratic Oath; an oath that doctors take saying they will always help their patients, and never intentionally harm a patient. These just two of Greece's many influential scientist and mathematicians. All of these are just a handful of reasons on why science and math is one, if not the greatest contribution of the Greeks.

The Greek contribution that I think is most important is Democracy. I chose Democracy because in Democracy you are told to go to a jury once in your life or not at all. The greatest contribution to how we live today is Pericles because he gave a great speech to his people stating to work, fight and live for your family at the right moment in time. Also Pericles is like a president to his people because he cares about his people and democracy. This all could relate to how we live today by looking back at how people in Athens lived with Pericles and how people new how to resolve things without fighting they resolved it in a place. An Agora which is a place in Athens where everyone met to discuss issues and today we live with the president discussing things with people like discussing issues like they did in Athens instead of fighting. One thing that doesn't relate to they way we live now is an Ostracism because when people in Athens spoke against democracy they would get kicked out of Athens. In todays society when we speaks about democracy or the president nobody kicks that person out of that place we now have the right to say whatever we want to say about the president or country. That is why I think Democracy is the most important contribution.

Ancient Greece has contributed many important things to this world, but I believe democracy was the most important thing the Greek people contributed. First, a large factor for why democracy is the most important, is that we still use it today. Democracy was a good enough idea, that we use something from about 2,500 years ago. Another factor is what Pericles said in his speech. He had told his people that the men who fought and died had not died in vain. He told his people that they died for democracy. This was very important back then and still is now. Presidents of the United States still use his words in their speeches. They tell us that the men who have fought and died, have died for democracy. Overall, democracy is the most important contribution of Ancient Greece, for these many important reasons

There is this ancient Greek achievement that contributed the most to the world and that is democracy. The things that democracy created was a direct democracy, jury, stipend, and ostracism. There was also equality before the law was even created. In Greek they also had this place called Agora which was a meeting place to discuss your issues that you have, because people had the right to do that because they had democracy. They also had a jury, which was really good because it decided what that persons fate would be if they have done some thing wrong or any thing bad that they shouldn't be doing. There was also this guy named Perikles and he was one of the most important people in Athens because he was elected 15 time to the pst of strategos meaning general, he had improved the system of democracy in the city which was very good for the people and they were pleased. He was also talking about how good democracy was. This is what I thought was the achievement that contributed the most in the world.

The Ancient Greeks contributed much to the world we live in today. The one that I feel like is the most important contribution is science and math. I believe this because without science and math our progress in technological advancements would be minimal. Having things like cars, complex buildings, and certain medicine would be nearly impossible to achieve without science and math. One of the famous Greek participants in the Hall of Fame is Pythagoras. Pythagoras contributed to our world today by discovering the formula for calculating the sides of a triangle. This may seem simple but small discoveries like this contributed to larger and more astonishing mathematical and scientific discoveries.

I chose Democracy because, Democracy means, "a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives." Democracy controls how and what we do on a day to day basis, because. The citizens get to vote for what the want, and have some what of a say on something. So if someone want to make a building for a town, the citizens of the town can vote if they want it or not. Also, it is important today, because most country's and regions use democracy to base their lives. Also, one greek gall of famer that contributed to democracy was "Perikles was one of the most important people in Athens during the 5th century. He was elected 15 times to the post of strategos (general). He improved the system of democracy in the city. This made it easier for artists and philosophers to work in freedom." In conclusion, i chose democracy, because democracy controls what and how we do thing everyday and, it affects regions around the world considerably.

Without Democracy the United States currently could have been completely different and could have turned for the worse back in the 1700's. Without Democracy, we wouldn't have the luxuries of participation in government unlike other forms of government. In conclusion, democracy is the most important contribution from Greece.

In my opinion the best ancient Greek achievement was math and science. The first reason why is the people who investigated it for instance Euclid he was the first person to try geometry. Then later he got all of his discoveries and theories into a piece of literature called Elements. Elements believe it or not was the first math book ever printed and it is still used in schools to this day. This next hall of famer is Pythagoras he made very important discoveries in math. He gave the formula that is used to calculate triangle sides. In conclusion to this if it was not for theses people we would not be able to study things like geometry, biology, and my favorite science of all phyisics.

I think democracy was the best because America and other countries still use it. Democracy enables the citizens of a place to participate in the government.
