There are two main levels of bullying including an imbalance of power, where an individual uses their advantage of power such as strength and popularity to control or put down another individual. And then there is repetition, where the bullying continues over a period of time or just more than once.

Then there is different types of bulling such as:

Some of the statistics show:

• One out of every five (20.2%) students report being bullied
• 41% of students who reported being bullied at school indicated that they think the bullying would happen again (Shows the level repetition as talked about before)
• Of those students who reported being bullied, 5% were pushed, shoved, tripped, or spit on (Physical Bullying); 3% were made fun of, called names, or insulted; 13% were the subject of rumors, and 5% were excluded from activities on purpose (Social Bullying)
• The reasons for being bullied reported most often by students include physical appearance, race/ethnicity, gender, disability, religion, sexual orientation.
• One in five (20.9%) tweens (9 to 12 years old) has been cyberbullied, cyberbullied others, or seen cyberbullying

One of the worst parts of cyberbullying amongst children is that it can happen at anytime of the day, as long as the bully has access to digital devices, and not just when the children are on school grounds. It begins when Taylor's younger brother hacks her new computer and posts an inappropriate status to a social media platform which then leads to other students responding to the post in awful ways making her fear having to face everyone at school. After this Taylor then befriends a stranger on this social media platform who she believes to be a friend but this "friend" ends up spreading a nasty rumor about Taylor which then provokes the other students to bully her even more. It comes to a breaking point where the boy Taylor has a crush on and even her two best friends turn their back on her, resulting Taylor to fall into a depression and attempts to take her own life. 

This movie shows the horrors and reality of cyberbullying and the effect it can have on an individual. Mean Girls was released in 2004 and centers around the popular girls in school, and the "uncool" kids trying to get revenge on them. The popular girls constantly are bullying other students in school, by making mean comments about other students behind their back and even creating a burn book that is filled with nasty comments and rumors about all of the girls within their grade. The so called "uncool" kids recruit the new girl, Cady, to get their revenge on their rivals. They use forms of bullying in order to do this, such as replacing face moisturizer with foot cream and giving it to Regina. 

Bullying is the center of attention in this movie, and with the commercial approach and the use as using bullying as a form of revenge, it may be presenting young viewers the wrong impressions of bullying. It highlights all of the forms of bullying that this teen has gone through including social bullying as well as cyberbullying that ultimately led her to this decision. • More than one third of adolescents reporting bullying report bias-based school bullying
• 70.1% of LGBTQ students were verbally bullied (called names, threatened) in the past year because of their sexual orientation and 59.1% because of their gender expression, and 53.2% based on gender
• 48.7% of LGBTQ students experienced cyberbullying in the past year

Some of these signs could include:

• Unexplainable injuries
• Changes in eating habits, like suddenly skipping meals or binge eating. Kids may come home from school hungry because they did not eat lunch
• Declining grades, loss of interest in schoolwork, or not wanting to go to school
• Sudden loss of friends or avoidance of social situations
• Frequent headaches or stomach aches, feeling sick or faking illness
• Self-destructive behaviors such as running away from home, harming themselves, or talking about suicide
