He teaches corporate and wayfinding design at Parsons where he has been a visiting lecturer since 1973.

His designs are very vector based, similar to an artist I am influenced by a lot called Aaron James Draplin who is a Graphic Designer from Portland Orogen.

Our initial plan for Bear Hands was to create iPhone and iPad games for children. However, we started to receive emails from clients about working on apps for companies. As a result, our current branding has a more formal, professional look but still works as a logo for products aimed at young children.

Like the WWF logo the Bear Hands uses negative space to portray the outline of the bear. From this logo I extracted the Bear Outline and edited the different anchor points and created it my own version of the bear which I used to represent the polar bear in design idea 1

His work features mathematical objects and operations including impossible objects, explorations of infinity, reflection, symmetry and perspective

Peace and calm: The color blue induces calm and peace within us, particularly the deeper shades. 

Honesty: Blue is the colour of truth.

Authority: The darker the color blue, the more authority it has.

Religion: Blue is the colour of devotion and religious study. 

Wisdom: Blue enhances the wisdom of the intellect.
Conservative: The color blue is a safe colour - the most universally liked colour of all.

Predictable: Blue is not impulsive or spontaneous and it doesn't like to be rushed - blue needs to analyze and think things through, and to work to a plan.

Orderly: Blue needs to have direction & order- untidiness and unpredictability overwhelms it.

Rigid: Blue likes familiarity. It doesn't like change and will stubbornly do things its own way, even if there is a better way.

Positive Color Meanings in Business:
loyalty, trust and integrity, tactful, caring and concerned, reliability and responsibility, conservatism and perseverance, idealistic and orderly, authority, devotion and contemplation, peace and calm

Negative Color Meanings in Business:
rigid, deceitful and spiteful, self-righteous, superstitious and emotionally unstable, too conservative, predictable and weak, unforgiving and frigid, manipulation, unfaithfulness and distrust 

Rescuer: White rescues us from the dark. It is the white knight, rescuing the damsel in distress. 

Futuristic: Symbolizing a clean slate, we can envisage anything with white.

Efficient: White is clean and clinical, giving an impression of efficiency and organisation.
Innocence and purity: White is the beginning of everything, before anything is muddied or thinking is 'colored'.

New beginnings: White represents the clean slate, helping us through times of stress, and allowing us put the past behind us and preparing us to move on.

Equality and unity: White represents the positive as well as the negative aspects of all colors. It contains an equal balance of all the colors of the spectrum.

Positive keywords include: innocence, purity, cleanliness, equality, complete and whole, simplicity, immaculate and neat, self-sufficient, pristine and open, new beginnings.

Negative keywordsinclude: sterile, stark, fastidious, empty, isolated, cautious, plain, distant, unimaginative, critical and boring.

 

For my FMP I have been getting feedback off my tutors and peers throughout the project which has influenced the final design of my project because I from the group criticisms I was given the feedback to watch the OK GO music video The Writings On the Wall which lead to me finding out about different types of perspective installations that I have gone on and used for my final Installation. For the branding I was given feedback to simplify my design which has allowed me to create a very powerful brand. The feedback that I have received throughout has helped and allowed me to complete my project objectives. To develop my project further I could look at creating smaller perspective installations and position them separately to see what effect the smaller perspective installations have on the viewer.

 

To ensure that my FMP was presented to the highest quality I got my boxes and the cube laser cut for an accurate finish, I colour matched the printer colour to the paint posts so that the colours was the same ensuring that my designs was consistent and to a high quality. From completing my FMP I have developed an understanding of different methods of presenting my graphic based information instead of just producing a poster for example. The skills I have developed for my FMP I will be able to use in the future for my university project presentations and for my end of year shows.
