She stands out as an active supporter of the Energy Initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Religious Literacy Project at Harvard Divinity School. Mellissa Riddle also advocates for the social entrepreneur projects made possible by the Skoll Foundation, and the entrepreneurs aiming to improve the lives of all those within their value chains. Mellissa Riddle became an entrepreneur in 2004 when she co-founded a wholesale import/export business based in Indonesia. Over the next four years, she worked with cross-cultural teams and built a client portfolio with domestic and international projects. Mellissa Riddle then went on to direct marketing consortium CAM in Arizona and California. She soon co-founded another company, Unified Solutions, working within the venture capital space through which she served as interim chief marketing officer to start-ups. She now serves as full-time chief of staff to Al Tajir General Trading. A graduate of the bachelor of arts program in international relations at Harvard University, Mellissa Riddle is currently working toward her graduate degree in the same field.
