Never have I been as distressed as I was. I was reduced to a nervous wreck as I sat uncomfortably on the squeaky seat; the dread residing at the bottom of my soul growing steadily as the minutes ticked by. The horrifying combination of the hideous moss green walls and the suffocating stench of chemicals and antiseptics aroused a feeling of mortal terror inside me. The woeful cries of a hysteric child in the next room only built up horror inside me. In fact, I knew the welcome sign hung at the front door of the dentist was an ill omen for me. I could see those monstrous little devils lying on top of the table from the corner of my eye. I cannot bear to imagine that those pieces of metals would be cemented on the walls of my teeth; I had a feeling that the ones on the incisors would be especially annoying. How am I able to survive two years in these metals that cage me up? Why did I even agree to wear braces?
