In Pasadena, California. Every year, there is a Rose Parade, and people stay overnight on the sidewalks of its 5-mile routs to see it. At night cars pass down the street, and some people throw marshmallows, tortillas with shaving cream, or silly strings at the cars going down it. Though for the cars that wouldn't enjoy that, stay on the left hand side.

Also, they give their goddess of the sea little gifts as offering by throwing it into the ocean. People throw offerings into the ocean, wishing for things from the goddess of the sea.
