  • In “The Seventh Man”, the narrator first showed fear in the form of a wave. In line 1 and line 27 he states that, “A huge wave nearly swept me away,” and “In my case, it was a wave,.” His diction he use in this scenario shows how hard this impacted his life. As the story continues he keeps getting more and more scared to the point he was having nightmare that in line 303 he states that, “I wake up in the darkness, screaming, drenched in sweat.” This really shows the fear that has got into him.
