He was a musician before, and he tried to convince that people should be able to play music freely. It was about his view on the nature of man and education. It was his most popular book. He considered the Emile his "best and most important" book. In the social contract he says that laws are binding when they are supported by the people. He says that when the power is only given to a few people, the citizens are less likely to listen. A person only listens to laws they made or agreed to. He wrote an autobiography called Confessions. He wrote about how he found shopping annoying, and how he reacted to his Ex's new lover. He wrote another book named Julie. It was about a girl having to pick between someone with a high social status, or a man that really loved her. She picked real love. His ideas on the Social Contract influenced the Declaration of Independence. Now the US government is a Democracy, and people vote on representatives to decide on laws.
