During my Spring Break, I learned that sharing my sailing experiences allowed me to learn a lot about others. I took my teaching partner, Mrs. Gunther and her family, out on a rainy day. I thought they would cancel, but instead they "toughed it out" and enjoyed the cloudy weather. Later, the weather turned, and the sky was filled with beautiful sun-streaks. They Gunther's were very resilient and happy as a family which was a joy to be a part of. I even let Finley steer a little and she earned the nickname "Captain Finn".

During my trip to Michigan, I was at my cousins house and we played capture the flag. We lost because the teams were unfair. But the life lesson is that you don’t need to win to have fun.

During my spring break I learned that being patient for someone else can help you feel better. When me and my cousins were at an Easter residual, we had to wait 3 hours for someone else, I tried to find ways to stay interested and I eventually did, listening to what father Jonathan had to say. He is a priest. Then when it was time for my little cousins to be baptized my mood was improved and I felt happy. In this break, I learned that listening and being patient can help improve your mood and the way you feel.

When I was in Tokyo, I learned a lot of independence with being out my comfort zone. I have to try to buy or do something with a person who doesn’t speak my language. It’s hard doing it by myself so most of the time I have my parents help with communicating. (Google translate)

During a tournament in the Bahamas I got injured in the last round before the FINALS! I tore my tissue in my right foot and I couldn’t walk. My team(Empower) was worried if they would win without me because I was the starting point guard and we did not have another point guard. I told them to play brave and to be aggressive and we lost but it was alright because we win some and we lose some and it’s fine to lose.

While I was at Universal Studios and we were going to go on the Despicable Me ride my dad got hungry. But I got mad because we had eaten like an hour ago and I wanted to go on the ride. The lesson I learned is that you don’t have to do everything right away.

During my break I had to go to church with my cousins for Easter, but it was really boring and my sister and I just found my mom and told her that we wanted to leave and she agreed and took us back home. I learned that you gotta solve a problem by yourself if there is one, not relying on others.

During spring break, I realized that even though it was fun to do stuff such as Padres games, Go-Karting, and traveling, I still missed school and couldn’t wait to see my friends. This taught me that if you surround yourself with good people, you can have fun doing normal/routinely things.

During my trip in Washington, D.C. and Knoxville, Tennessee, I learned that sometimes you have to take responsibility for your actions, and it’s better than lying. There was this family friend who had a baby. She was going to get groceries, and I told her that I could babysit him. He was trying to go down the stairs and he fell down. When she got home I told her that he fell down the stairs and he got hurt. She said that she was happy I was being honest and I did not get in trouble.

During my spring break I learned how important sleep is. I had a sleep the Saturday after school, and didn’t sleep much. But the next couple of days I slept at least 11 hours and felt great. Their was many other life lessons I had learned during break such as the importance of friends and family. Those are the top two most important life lessons I learned during break.

The main reason I went to TX was to find a house. I learned that it is really boring and you can’t say much. The lesson I learned is that sometimes you get really bored, but you have to find the good part of it (I did not).

During my spring break I learned that coincidences could be very strange sometimes. You never know when you might see someone. After a day at sea world, I went to a Korean barbecue place for dinner, surprisingly, my best friend came just 5 minutes later! Apparently, they had just decided to come here, when they found it on a website. The life lesson is, it could be in the strangest of places where you see someone again, and the main highlight of the day can always come unexpectedly. So don’t try to plan everything out, sometimes you’ll find more fun in going to someplace random, and you never know who you might see.

I went tho the Expo in Osaka, Japan, which is a once in a life time opportunity. The Expo, is a place where almost all of the countries in the world come together to share their ideas for the future, to make our planet a better place. My dad was so excited for this, and couldn’t stop talking about it. Unfortunately, we got there, and were almost blown away by a hurricane (it wasn’t actually a hurricane, it was just really windy.) The whole time I was like, “This sucks. I would rather be anywhere but here,” but my dad was determined to do as many pavilions as possible. In the end, my mom, sister, and I, told my dad that we can’t stay here because it is super uncomfortable. My dad said that we could go, since he was cold too. In the end, we only went into 6 pavilions. That day, I learned that not everything is about you, but if something is really bad, then you need to speak up. 😀😀😀😀😀😀

During my skiing trip, I didn’t ski on the first day, so on the second day my friends knew more than me and I was a bit behind, but on the third day I got better because I had done it the second day. If I had skied the first day I would be more experienced with my friends. I learned that you miss all the shots you don’t take.

Over the course of my spring break, I learned that I should start being more grateful of the times where I get abundant and unlimited amounts of sleep. Most of my spring break’s time was spent sleeping, and I often slept all the way till lunchtime, skipping breakfast. I never had to wake up before 6-10 A.M until today, and I took all of my time of slumber for granted. I did not expect to be this tired on the way to school at all. I didn’t do much during my spring break, except for volleyball, gymnastics, and math classes, along with two parties on the weekend.

During my spring break I did a lot of things, but by far the best part was hanging out with Priya. We are both VERY competitive and we both desperately wanted to win, but I learned that it is more about having fun with your friends, not about winning or losing. So, she might’ve beat me, but in the end it was just for fun.
