Will humanity find new forms of spirituality?

I agree with Saff. We are all changing, and Religion is changing with us. However, it still has similar meaning - it can still give guidance or comfort to people, but we just go about it a different way. I do not think that the time for organised religion is over. This is because, even though many people now have different ways of worship etc, the religion is still there and there are many people who do still have the same beliefs and moralities as people did many years ago. Perhaps things have changed slightly, but everything changes over time - it does not mean that it is wrong now though.

I believe that 'Traditional' Religions are coming to a halt, as it is hard to stick to them, as Saff has said, and I do think that if we lose them, then it will be hard to find new forms of spirituality. Religion has helped many people, Like Megan has said, to give guidance, and also to give comfort, as the idea of a god can make some sense to the world. I think the 'traditional' religions wont fully stop, but they will be modernised to adapt to the changes in society.

I believe that that organised religion may be coming to an end. I think this because people are not as ignorant and oblivios to the world around us and are more knowledgable.
What I mean by this is that the people of this time and these generations are not quite as gullible as the ones when most of the organised religions formed.
They are willing to question things to ask and why, and even refuse to believe some of the things they are told.
People hold their own views on everything and this makes us unique and human.
I do not believe that we will lose are morals and ethics if religion disappears as religion is not the only influen on our lives. We don't just get our morals from religion. Our family is one of the major alternatives.
I reckon that humanity will find new forms of spirituality as we are always thinking and inventing new things, no matter what it is.

In 100 years... who knows? Stealing may be regarded as ethical!

However, I definatly don't think that we will lose all morals without religion! They will just change!

I agree with Saff as well, I think that rules in modern society are changing and so people are finding it hard to stick to the rules that religions put in place. I however disagree with Andrew, in my opinion adultery/cheating is not okay and the media and celebrities that do it are not thought well of because of it they are looked down on. I agree though that there are more things that are become more acceptable in society like swearing. Overall I think religion is just changing as we do!:)

I think that in our society we and losing our traditional ethics and religion as the change in our society and our opinions as a society have changed drastically, I think that humanity could survive without religion as if animals can survive without religion then surely a more intelligent species can. If religion disappears then I dont believe that all wars and hatred against one another would stop, I think that we would just find more differrences with one another.

I also agree with Saff. I think that there will still be traditional religious people today but depending on how people act towards modern society people would either want to fit in and be a more modern religious person or stay traditional. So overall it just depends as attitudes to religion are changing.

I think that maybe how important the traditions are in religions are decreasing and not being taken as seriously, I think that people are now able to believe in what they want and how they want to on oppose to how they were brought up and what their parents want them to believe in. I don't think religions will disappear at all, I just think that people will be able to interpret how they want to follow their religion and to what extent they believe in it.

I think there is a place for religion in modern society. Religions have been adapting to changes in society for hundreds of years, for example women were not able speak in church, and now we have women that have been ordained. I believe that wether it is the 20th century or the 30th century,if people hold dear their religion and have a really strong belief and faith then there will always be a place in society for religion.

I agree with Saff as I believe everyday religion is changing and people are becoming more and more revolved around work and family life and time for religion is cut short therefor some Christians only go to church on special occasions and praying becomes lesss of a daily habit. As this is happening we still have morals and know right from wrong, so just because religions are running out and not taken seriously (by some) any more we will still be a moral society.

I think the time for organised religion is over, and I think this because it
causes problems such as the KKK and other mean groups. It can also cause terrorists,
which are very dangerous. I don't think we are losing our wisdom and ethics because
we now have lows, but before laws religion was required to set standard rules. We have
many wise people in society who are not religious.

I think there is still place for religion but less so for organised religion. New generations are becoming less devoted to organised religion, they still follow the philosophy of it but do not specifically "tie themselves" into it, eg. following the 10 commandments but not attending church weekly (christians). Although I do not necessarily think this is a bad thing, maybe we are becoming less devoted to organised religion but perhaps our parents or grandparents did the same to theirs. I dont believe we are loosing wisdom or ethics, maybe we are growing them as society starts to think for itself and evolve religions and their phylosophys to modern day life, or even sculp new phylosophys to form new spiritual ideas, like Jedi which has become a more apparent
