Loyalists wanted to be part of UK and Nationalists wanted to be part of Ireland.
Almost 4000 people died because of this conflict.
Later in 1980 the conflit ended when the "Good Friday Agreement" was signing.

It's really very impressive, very beautiful and creative, there are a lot of colors, different types of drawing: graffiti, sculptures ... I saw on these walls differents walls painting and tags.Looking at people, I have the impression that they want to make peace with catholics. I find that some walls painting want to forget the period of the Troubles and others want to raise the walls. I saw some peace walls, in there walls there are a lot of messages like "peace doesn't need a wall" or "bring down the wall". People want to take down the wall because this is the separation between Catholics and Protestants. The walls are covered with flashy designs to attract people to make them see their messages .

we see several drawing on the wall. That make this palace very pretty, we see the passerby write their names on it or put little words i find its very touching. the designs are really pretty, i love it. We have the impression that for some of them by his words people say what they have on the heart as the fact that for them there is no need for a wall to have the peace. it feels like on this wall people are writing and drawing the history of Northern Ireland. Thanks to this wall at a glance tourists can discover the history of the country.

This video is moving because there are a lot of peace messages in the same place from hundreds people. We can see different important people like Bobby Sands who was fighting against segregation. It's not just peace between Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland because we can the the Palestine's flag with "Solidarity pows" so it's an iternational paece message.

I notice that the walls are very high with obstacles at the top and that some are very long. I notice that on the different walls there are drawings and messages of peace. for example, there is a drawing which represents two hands which are tightened, one with the colors of the republic of ireland and the other with those of northern ireland.
The people want the walls to be destroyed "peace doesn't need a wall".

Belfast is a city full of wall covered with murals and street art. I can observe many messages of peace like : « Peace doesn’t need a wall ». We can see representations of important people like Bobby San. and many paintings are inspired by the troubles that the country has undergone. Many messages of solidarity between Catholic and Protestant are also written. My impressions are that the streets are colorful and full historical landmarks. It’s a really touristy place.
