Paste your formal response from 2/4, and use the rubric in today's Reader's Notebook to evaluate your work. What moves do you see peers using? What looks great in peer writing, that you could try, too? We will talk about what we notice in class, make some revisions, and then reflect on what works well in formal comparison writing.

In "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" the main idea Is the unique ways families are bonding and keeping the boredom away.

One family is playing dodgeball with blindfolds and toilet paper as a bonding activity and they put it on Tik-Tok. "We try to keep them simple and something that other families that are watching can play along as well." This shows that they want other families to bond and have fun so they don’t go crazy with boredom.

"In a Caulfield street on Saturdays,

the smell of the same dish wafts from every house"

The main idea is how their street is connecting over lockdown.

They are cooking meals on a zoom

meeting and there street has the same aroma . Because of covid-19 they haven’t really known each other but with online calls and online games they can meet each other and heave events and bond.

The residents of Chloris Crescent have been eating

dinner together every Saturday night for weeks. It's not

your regular social gathering the neighbors dine together through Zoom. This is even

though many may not have known each other's names before the

outbreak of COVID-19

The two texts are about the unique way people and families are bonding and connecting over lockdown. A family try's to keep their games simple so other people and families can do them. In text two "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house" they talk about the diversity with the food cultures and how they love connecting over zoom and making meals. Jennifer Huntt says that at "first there were about 10 people and now there are 20" this just shows how people want to connect and talk to someone outside their family.

The 2 texts have a lot in common, while staying unique to each other, But what is truly alike between the 2?

In the first text "How Bored Families Are Getting Through The Coronavirus Lockdown". The article talks about the Presley family in North Carolina. The family made up fun games and activities to keep themselves busy while on lockdown because of Coronavirus, they also posted it to social media, to give their viewers entertainment and ideas of things to do to keep them and their families busy and happy. " We played through all the board games and everything so we had to get creative", Alex Presley said. The article talked about how other people and family are finding fun and unique projects while in isolation. Between custom meals, games and even songs. The text talks about how people around the world are embracing the Covid-19 lockdown and making it better.

While in the second text. "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house". The texts talks about how a group of neighbors in Australia created a virtual cooking club, while on their Coronavirus lockdown. "Each week, a recipe is emailed to the group. This gives everyone a chance to buy the ingredients they need before the weekend's meet-up". The club started when Hunt, a neighborhood resident. Had attended a party where his neighbor, Bindya Bedi made delicious Indian dish. He asked for the recipe and for her to make zoom meeting where she showed how she made it, and the rest is history. The club got bigger, with more members and more foods. "Everybody is so nice, it's like a small family, rather than a community," It brought the neighborhood and its residents closer, and they got delicious meals out of it.

Now, on to comparison. Both texts talk about how lockdown affected their entertainment and home life. With the Presley family being locked at home and bored, and the Chloris Crescent neighborhood wanting human interaction and connection. In both situations, the families decided to come with their own ways to entertain themselves, reclaiming some of their lockdown blues. With the Presley's and Chloris Crescent residents, they created family activities to bring them closer together. "When we do it together it brings us together a bit more strongly." - The Caulfield text. Both stories talked about how the families made actives to become closer together. The Chloris Crescent neighborhood and Presley family bonded with another, though killing boredom and displaying love. What they did was pretty cool and powerful, because at that time, those were the things all of us really needed.

I am reading articles How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown and In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house. They have some similar things and different things as well..

The article about the people in zoom that cooks the dishes is about a group of people that connects during a zoom online and not in person due to the pandemic, they all follow the same recipe brought by Jennifer who was tired of being home and feeling alone without visiting her neighbors. Jennifer had remember an old Christmas dish she had in a party. That’s how she got the idea to start an online cooking lesson. Jennifer sent an email to her close neighbors so that they could join her but then there were more people each time in the zoom, it increased over the time which made her feel happy and not alone, "it's like a small family". The main idea here might be that even in quarantine, you are not alone but you need to be creative in order to be with others.

The article about the Quarantine is about how a family started a trend and fun activity's that they call "Quarantine Olympics". The people who made that used to play dodgeball but, since there couldn't be a lot of people they decided to play with a toilet paper because they had played all of the board games that they had. The made a game called "blindfolded toilet paper dodgeball" it consists of spinning to get dizzy and throw toilet paper at each other, if you get hit you are out and take off your blindfold. Alex was the guy who came up with the creative idea, then he decided to make another one but, he posted it on tik tok so that more people could share it, and do the same fun activity's that they are doing. Many families are starting to get creative too, people are doing parody's and they are making like if their home was in a restaurants. Alex makes sure that his challenges aren't too hard for the families to enjoy, he always makes them easy and fun. Derek is a great chief and a comedian, he posts on tiktok about him cooking like in a professional restaurant to his family which people seem to enjoy and specially his family members " I don't know what I would be doing in quarantine without this". In conclusion doing projects is a good way to be busy and not being bored every time it's always good to be busy specially in the quarantine.

The main idea could be that if you create or do your own activity's the chances are that you are going to be so entertain and posting with others might entertain them too.

After knowing about the texts, both texts are similar since they both are on quarantine. They both got creative by making zoom classes and "Quarantine Olympics" they both had fun and shared their ideas with their friends and communitys.

What they have different is that the people in the cooking article only cooked and they were both online social distance, meanwhile the "Quarantine Olympics" were all together and they would do some activity's instead of just sitting down and cooking also they would post their ideas on tik tok and families would get inspired which they would be making challenges too. Their main ideas are different like on the cooking one is to be creative to be with others and the other one is to be creative with yourself and share your ideas with others to keep you busy and keep them busy too.

In this comparison I'm comparing ''How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" and "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house"

In text one ''How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" the text talks about how families are getting creative during this Corona virus pandemic the Presley family played blindfolded dodgeball with toilet paper and the text says "Once you're hit by a roll of toilet paper, you're out, and only then can you take off the blindfold". The text also talks about a 14 year old that likes cooking and has turned family dinners into extravagant themed experiences that are wildly popular on TikTok. The Marshes a family of six from the United Kingdom went viral in late March The family shared their isolation-themed arrangement of "One Day More" from the musical "Les Misérables".

In text 2 "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house" it's about Bindya Bedi and how she hosts an online cooking lesson because Hunt a resident of Chloris Crescent for 30 years remembered a Christmas street party when her friend Bindya Bedi brought along a delicious Indian dish so Hunt sent an email to a few of her close Neighbour's containing Bedi's recipe and a Zoom link for the Saturday afternoon cooking class and the text says "There were six people in the first class, however it quickly grew to 10, then 15 people as word spread. "Each week we seemed to add one, then add a couple more," Hunt says. "I think we've got about 20 people now".

In the text one ''How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" and text two "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house" they are alike because they are both doing something they wouldn’t usually do because of COVID-19 in ''How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" they are playing the "Quarantine Olympics" and in the text "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house" they are holding a zoom meeting where Bindya Bedi hosts a cooking lesson. The main idea in the first text is that even during lockdown you can still have fun. The main idea in the second text is that you can still learn new things in lockdown. They are similar in that they are both finding something to do during lockdown.

Today I'm a going to read and compare how bored families get through corona and

In a Caulifield street on Saturdays ,The smell of the same dish wafts From every house.

A internet trend called the

"quarantine Olympics" Was made for people at home Due to corona so a family in Cornelius north Carolina They were playing toilet paper Dodge ball but all so there son Posted footage of them playing On tik tok and it ended up Becoming viral so everyone Started "quarantine Olympics".

So a young 14 years old named Derek Cannuscio has a passion to cook and be a comedian

So he would post him cooking and being funny on tik tok and something unique was totally normal people were able to go viral for being normal and doing things to get them through corona .

Every Saturday a group of friends would go on zoom and cook together through zoom but this wasn’t always the case though "one early august" Jennifer hunt decided she had enough not see her neighbors but between march and June most of Australia was on lockdown and even one of the friends had" stage 4 coronavirus restrictions in till October" so hunt decided to email to her close neighbors sharing recipes and good times coking together something unique was neighbors were able to make a little family cooking together through zoom.

What both these text have in common was random people in the whole wide world were stuck in quarantine a family In Cornelius North Carolina that played toilet paper dodge ball and posted it on tik tok like a 14 year old named Derek was a funny person and loved to cook so he mixed those two together to post on tik tok but what make these texts come together was that family and friends even neighbors can come together like Jennifer hunt and her neighbor that share recipes and memories through zoom.

I know this because the text mentioned ''If anyone had peeked inside the residence on April 8, they would have seen the Presley's playing dodgeball. Yet none of the players could see each other, and they used rolls of toilet paper instead of balls''

This game is like dodge ball but

With toilet paper but blind folded.

the next family is the Marshes.

They got through COVID-19 by

Going viral in late march for

Sharing their story of

Isolation-themed arrangement. The text also mentioned ''The family shared their isolation-themed arrangement of "One Day More" from the musical "Les Misérables.''

The next text is called

In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house talks about how this family cooks, and talk with her neighbors through zoom, and she cooks the same dishes and the same ingredients as her neighbors. '' On Saturday afternoons, a group of Neighbours in the Melbourne suburb of Caulfield cook the same dish. They use the same recipe and ingredients, and their kitchens carry the same aromas.

Text one is about how the Presley family got through the COVID-19 by making their own game to have fun at homey. Text two is how the Marshes got through COVID-19 by going viral on TikTok. Next is about a family that had virtual dinner with their neighbors every Saturday, and cook the same dish.

I'm reading about people that are in lockdown from COVID-19. But how they can still have fun. This one family was bored so they made a game to play. Jennifer wanted to talk with her neighbors so she would facetime them and have the fun she wanted

While I was reading How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown the main idea is how families can have fun even during lockdown. I say this because in the text it is talking about how people can't leave their houses but that did not stop them from being bored. This one family was bored so they had to get creative and made this one game that there family was enjoying. Alex is the person that came up with the ideas and recorded his family playing the games he made. Then people started doing this on Tik Tok after seeing the video. Then many families started doing this.

While I was reading In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house, the main idea is even if they were in lockdown that did not stop them from doing what they always did. Jennifer Hunt was sick of not seeing here neighbors so she would face time them and have fun. They would share their favorite ingredients and there foods.

The first and second text is about families and friends are in lockdown and can't go any

Where because of COVID-19, so they found ways around it. This family was not liking lockdown so they had to think and get creative. They made fun games to play with their family so they are not bored out of their minds. The second text is about how Jennifer Hunt was missing here neighbors because she was in lockdown. She would always share recipes to her favorite food and hang with her friends. But now she couldn't. So she found out COVID-19 would not stop her from seeing her friends. She would send an email, and zoom call them. She would see them and still did what she used to do. The main idea is even if people are in lockdown that does not mean they can't have fun.

Hello I am eric Flores and I will me talking about how bored and in a Caulfield

The first main idea in how bored is about how a family starts a new trend that others find interesting called Text one is talking about this internet quarantine trend where they play activities and games at home but they improvise too with the equipment they have at home but the family competes against each other like toilet paper the Presly family created a tiktok account that you can watch now (text evidence: alex created a video of the game, which he set to a soundtrack of Mozart and then shared on TikTok. In the video, five people stumble around a living room with their faces covered by sweatshirt hoods. Shouts mingle with the muted thuds of rolls bouncing off windows and walls.)

The second main idea talks about how a cooking neighborhood from "in a Caulfield" video chat with the same dish in their house like a dinner party/ cooking show using the same ingredients. The neighbors usually go on zoom Saturdays in the afternoon after finishing the meal they all eat together on the call just to feel like they are being with their friends again

(text evidence : The residents of Chloris Crescent have been eating dinner together every Saturday night for weeks. However it's not your average social gathering – the Neighbours dine together through Zoom. This is even though many may not have known each other's names before the outbreak of COVID-19.)

This is me starting my comparison about both texts. So both of these texts are different topic topic one is about having fun while staying home and safe. Text two talks about how you can still be with close people with their technology we have their the same because they stay with close people and how they are still following the rules of quarantine whats different is that paragraph one is more of doing challenges and paragraph 2 is more of a dinner style topic

Today I'm going to be comparing "How bored families through the coronavirus lockdown" and "In a Caulfield street on Saturday, smell of dish wafts from every home" are getting about what they have in common.

In text one "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown"

The main idea about the text is how families are getting adapted by COVID-19 lockdown, they are being creative making new games and making them viral called "Quarantine Olympics" on the internet and spending time with their family. "The family's recently have game nights activity's and have made internet famous". Overall most families and the Presley family's they have created a new game called "blindfolded toilet paper dodgeball", once you're hit by a toilet paper you are out and then you can take you're blindfold off and can make the more challenging.

In text two "In a Caulfield street on Saturday, smell of the same dish wafts from every house"

the main idea about the text is a women named Hunt have been emailing her few close neighbor's considering she has already been missing their neighbor's and had an idea making Bedi's recipes on a zoom link for the Saturdays afternoon cooking class as a result of COVID-19 and couldn't go to each other's places. "Each week, a recipe is emailed to the group. This gives everyone a chance to buy their ingredients they need before the weekend's meet-up".

These two text have a lot of common. They both have similar main ideas, they are getting through the pandemic by having small activity. About how they are doing inside their home by reasons of COVID-19 started to spread around the world. In text one it explains how people were adapting to their new life's that they didn't know what will it last while the pandemic started and how they were getting along with their new trends in the internet started to happened and how they got viral because people in that time they were connecting to their love ones do to COVID-19. But in second text they are similar because the text two is they connected to their neighbor's and cooking food by using zoom link that were only on Saturday afternoon. They both resemble by them having a something to do while they are far apart activity.

I'm going to compare two texts.

Hello I'm going to be telling you about text one. The title is called how bored families are getting through The coronavirus lockdown. The first paragraph is about when quarantine Olympics started. The family who started quarantine Olympics is the Presley family from Cornelius north Carolina. They were bored so they talked and then they found something. Quarantine Olympics. They did dodgeball with toilet paper.

Hello I'm going to be telling you about text two. The title is called in a Caulfield street on Saturdays the smell of the same dish wafts from every house. The paragraph is about a lady named Jennifer hunt

Doing a zoom call to make a dish that everybody in the Meeting will make. They may not see each other in person But they eat together through zoom. they started in The start of august. She missed her neighbors to much that’s when she decided to zoom. She's been a resident of Chloris crescent for at least 30 years. She remembered a Christmas party from a while ago. She remembered a type of dish her friend had brought then that’s what she made on zoom. Her friend hosted it for that dish. It’s a Indian dish. People told people so the members on the call grew larger. Each week a different recipe is emailed. It's like a very small family. The people on the meeting are happy to make the food and eat the food.

They both happened in COVID-19 and quarantine. The main idea from text one is even during COVID-19 you can have fun and you should spend every moment with joy in the time you have In life. The main idea from text two is you can still see people who aren't family and enjoy the time with them not in person online. They are the same because there both about enjoying time in corona virus so you don’t have to go out to have fun. The author in both texts is trying to teach you that you don’t have to go in public to have fun.

The articles im reading is when neighbors are bored and they want to do something together the make a very good dish to eat together of course in zoom meting. Every Saturday all the neighbors on the Melbourne suburb nerigborhood they make a really good dish on their houses but a dish that is so good that all the neighbors love it and they showed with their face because they look like they want some food but how do they get food?, so they can only go out to get food or medical care because Covid-19 cases are increasing each day.but the neighbors don’t feel sad or bad they feel happy because they like to try new things of food or new things that they didn’t know. The main idea is that it doesn’t matter were you are you can always haave a good time with your neighbors or make them happy.

The article 2 is about families that are bored getting trought bad things like Covid-19. in Covid-19 time their was a family that was bore each day and their was no way to make them have fun but then a family member created a game that was about some one had to put a soundtrack of mozaart and shared a tiktok trend in the video, five people stumble on the living room with their faces covered with shirt and they we so happy playing that game, and that game has made them internet famous you can comprove it by looking at tik tok trends or looking at internet. The main idea is that it doesn’t matter how much you get trought you can make you family happy.

The difference of this 2 articles is that they used different thing too make fun or past the time on it, and the same of the 2 articles is that they were in Covid times and they could get out of their houses because they could get infected or something wrong could happen to them , another thing that’s same about is that they were trying to not be bore or they tried to past more time with family and friends and it looks that were so happy just by looking their faces, Something different about them is that one article was creating a game and the other article was coking.

I have read these two texts how bored falilies are getting though the covld lockdown and a other text named in a caulfied street on saterdays the smell of the same dish wafts from every house and im also willing to compare these 2 texts.

The first text I'm going to talk about is "How bored families are getting though the lockdown." This text is about a famliy that is bored in a home and they have noting to do but what im guessing the mother had made up a game its like douge ball but with out balls but with the only thing they had toilet paper also said '' we played and recoded it in a app called tik tok and we had over 7.2 billion veiws'' and then the brother wanted to go on a date with his girlfriend so the mom had got a other light bulb in her head she said to her son that she can come over and can have dinner with the famliy so thay did they had a fun time

In a caulfied street saterday the smell of the dish from every house

In this text its talking about a lady and shes cooks her favorite dish with her neighbors but since the outbreak of covld-19 hit she had to stay at home and she missed making her favorite dish with her neighbors then she had a idea since the app zoom came in she emailed her close neighbors and they all replaid with a great idea so jennifer got all her foods to make the dish and she got on the zoom meeting and her cooked her favorite dish with her friends just like a long to me ago and then she got to enjoy her favorite meal with her friends and this texts is mainly about how a women and she missed cooking her favorite meal with friend and how she got on a zoom meeting and cooked with friends

Here I'm going to compare both texts. So I feel like they have the same thing but text one had more of details and they were also talking about something else and I guess the game that they made is a littile simuler to the cooking at home one because text 2 is just talking about how a women had a zoom meeting with friends but text 1 is a famliy and text 1 did talk about a dinner but that didn’t have the famliy have a zoom meeting but I guessing they were kind of the same thing because of the outbreak and the time that they were at home and many more things like how they have to stay at home and them trying to do things around the house and that’s my compareing texts

I am reading ''How Bored Families are Getting through the Coronavirus Lockdown'' and ''In a Caulfield Street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house'' and I am going to compare their main ideas.

I am reading ''How Bored Families are Getting through the Coronavirus Lockdown''. The main idea of this article is how families are just staying home due to the coronavirus lockdown so, people have been making ways on how to not get bored while at home. They have tried to make their own games their family can play and other families as well. They have done themed dinners and also different families have recreated new song lyrics for famous songs and have also made parody videos. The text says ''Canadian author Joel Sutherland and his family filmed a live-action parody of the title sequence for "The Simpsons." This shows how people are getting more and more creative while they are in their homes. The text also says ''Derek treats his family to themed dinners two or three nights a week.'' This shows how a young boy named Derek has made themed dinners for his family.

I am reading ''In a Caulfield Street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house''. The main idea of this article is about how this woman named Jennifer Hunt asked one of her friends named Bedi if she could host an online cooking class on zoom because everyone was on a coronavirus lockdown. Bedi said yes and at first their weren’t that much people but, more and more people came to class so they could see each other and learn something new. Bedi loved doing the cooking classes because, she wanted to see her neighbors without masks so she could see them smile and can actually see them because of COVID – 19. In the text it says "Each week we seemed to add one, then add a couple more," Hunt says. "I think we've got about 20 people now." This shows how more and more people have joined the online cooking class now. The text also says ''It's nice to have a little family around you when you are away from family, especially because we are from India." This shows how Bedi loves doing the cooking classes because she can see her neighbors because they are like family to her.

Both texts talk about what people are doing during COVID – 19 because they can't see other people except the ones they live with. In text 1 it says ''These videos entertain people who are desperate for fun as the coronavirus continues to spread worldwide.'' And in text 2 it says It's nice to have a little family around you when you are away from family, especially because we are from India.'' This evidence from both texts tell you that people have been making and doing things so they aren't bored and can see their loved ones. A difference they have is in text 2 they are doing an online cooking class and in text 1 they are making creatives ways on how to have fun while they are in lockdown. Something both texts have in common is they both got bored while they were in the COVID lockdown so they found some ways to have some fun and see some of their friends.

Introduction

Intro I'm going to compare two texts

How Bored Families are Getting Through the Lockdown is about how family's have fun during covid-19 one section is about how a family made a new game where you wrap a blind fold around your head and throw toilet paper around and you can only take the blind fold off once you get hit another one talks about how one kid hosted a cooking show and "with light humor" became a internet success.

In a Caulfield Street on Saturdays is about lots of families who found a way to connect through cooking "We are so culturally diverse and everybody loves to try out different food" each new week a new recipe is emailed to the family

I will be comparing both texts on this section. both texts are about how families are having fun during the quarantine but text 2 is a lot more specific than text two. Text 2 has a lot more family's than text one. Both talk about covid-19 and how it impacted the way they live. Conclusion, both articles are very similar.

I am reading two texts and I'm going to compare them. Text one is called "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown," and text two is called "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays".

In the text "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" the main idea is how families are spending their time over the lockdown because of COVID-19. The text tells us about that a family created a games over COVID-19 called "blindfolded toilet paper dodgeball” where they are blindfolded, then spin each other and throw toilet paper rolls, if you get hit your out, they also made other game called "Straw Challenge". The text also talks about other person made a video, where he does themed dinners with his family, and create funny cooking videos, one of them where he was a hibachi chef.

In the text "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays," the main idea is that Bindya Bedi is giving people in the neighbor online cooking classes because of COVID-19. The text tells us that "Jennifer Hunt decided she'd had enough of missing her neighbors." So she told Bindya Bedi if she wanted to teach a online cooking class. The text also says that more and more people came every week to learn new recipes from Bedi.

The main idea in text one is how families are spending their time over the lockdown because of COVID-19 and the main idea in text two is that Bindya Bedi is giving people in the neighbor online cooking classes because of COVID-19. Both of the texts have lots of things in common. One thing the is similar is that all of the people in the texts were stuck a home. Another thing that is alike is that both of the texts were things that were occupying the people during COVID-19. The first text "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" is that they created games to occupi them and the second text "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays" Bedi created an online cooking class, and it occupied them. Another thing that is the same that both of the texts had people connecting with other people. The first text "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" they spent time with other people playing the games. The second text "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays" Bedi spent time with other people when she was doing the cooking class. Something that is kind of similar is the first text "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays" Bedi created dishes and the second text "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" they created new games. Both of the texts created something during COVID-19.

This is about two articles that I read all class period reading. The first article name How bored families stat entertained in Quinten. The second article name is The calefied street on Saturdays. These are the paragraphs that I will be comparing.

This first article is called "How Bored families stay entertained at home " and it's about about bored families in quorate. To understand the "Quarantine Olympics," an internet trend that has come out of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. If anyone had peeked inside the residence on April 8, they would have seen the Presley's playing dodgeball. Yet none of the players could see each other, and they used rolls of toilet paper instead of balls. Alex created a video of the game, The family's recent game night activities have made them internet famous.

The second article I'm going to summarize is called," In calefied street." This article is about Calfeled street on Saturdays. On Saturday afternoons, a group of neighbors in the Melbourne suburb of Caulfield cook the same dish. They use the same recipe and ingredients, and their kitchens carry the same aromas. This is even though many may not have known each other's names before the outbreak of COVID-19. The group cooking classes came together one day in early August, when Jennifer Hunt decided she'd had enough of missing her neighbors. Between March and June, most of Australia has been under some form of lockdown. However, Victoria was under stage 4 COVID-19 restrictions until October.

Both of these stores are about trying to stay entertained in quarantine. The first text (How Bored families are staying entertained in Quinten), did this," The family's recent game night activities have made them internet famous". The second text (Caulfield street on Saturday's) is doing this, "Bedi has hosted the cooking class three times. She says the classes help to ease the emotional stress of lockdown". They both help people with Quinten boredom. The main idea in the first text is How this Boy went fames over doing something on tik tok and the whole family when tic toc famous. And the main idea in the second text is How A girl stayed entertained at home by starting A cooking class and made A lot of people have some fun in quirted. These are similar because They are both trying to enter tan people in Quentin so people don’t just about die in boredom. They help people have A little fun at home.

I'm going to compare the main ideas of both texts.

The article "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown," is about how families are finding ways to have fun during the pandemic. A bunch of people made viral videos about them playing "coronavirus Olympics," on tik-tok. They started playing blind folded toilet paper dodgeball. blind folded toilet paper dodgeball became very trendy on tik-tok.

The article "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house," is about how people are using zoom to cook some food during the pandemic. People didn't even know each other's name before this. New people are coming into the zoom chat almost every day. They cook the same food every day on the zoom call.

The similarities are, they both are in 2020-2021 (coronavirus time). They both involve technology. Both of them have people at their houses. The differences are, one has cooking the other doesn't. One has people playing games one doesn't. One has zoom one doesn't. One has tik-tok one doesn't. The main idea in the first text is that people are trying to have fun and make viral videos while there stuck in there house. The main idea in the second text is that people are trying to get people to get to know new people and cook while stuck in there house They are similar because both of them have people stuck in there house trying to be entertained.

These two text is what I will be comparing today! Thank you for reading.

The first text I am going to tell you about is, "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown." The Presley's, got famous on the Internet from there Olympic Challenges that has inspired other people to do somewhat the same. The Marshes, a family of six from the United Kingdom, went viral in late March they Got famous from singing and "the Simpsons'' These two families were a good explanation of how to not get bored during COVID-19 witch is the main idea of this text. One of the reasons these families did this stuff was because, to show you that you can still have fun in quarantine.

the second text I am going to tell you about is. in a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house. Saturdays, a group of neighbors cook the Same food to gather and not be alone. It all started by Hunt asked Beedi if she would like to host an online cooking lesson for the people that live in the street. Each week, a recipe is emailed to the group So they can cook together. This is another perfect example of how to connect together, by doing a neighborhood tradition, getting on zoom call this is the main idea in this text.

These two text talk about how to Still be close even when your far. They also talk about ways to Stay in touch or to not get bored during quarantine. Like "Doing creative projects is a good way of keeping yourself busy and keeping yourself not depressed," Colleen Morris said, in the first text. The differences these two text have Is that one is about cooking and one is About sporty stuff. Like making Beedi's favorite dish online. And how the Presley's Use toilet paper instead of balls. These are different ways that these Text were about how you can still Be in touch.

Hello, my name is Charlie! I am going compare 2 texts and state their main ideas.

The first text I read was, "How bored families are getting through quarantine." This article is about what families are doing to NOT be depressed during quarantine. My evidence is the beginning of the text when they say "We played through all the board games and everything, so we had to get creative." This evidence shows

The next article I read was, "In a Caulfield street on Saturday." This article is about Bedi, a resident on Caulfield street hosts a cooking class every Saturday for all of her neighbors and friends. My evidence is the section called "It's like a small family" when they say "Everybody looks after each other. It's nice to have a little family around you when you are away from family, especially because we are from India." This evidence shows

These article are similar in that they are both about people doing activities to stay happy during quarantine. They are different in that one is about a cooking class and one is about families doing Quarantine Olympics. They are different in that one focuses on several families and one is focuses on only a small group of people.

The main idea for text one is people are playing the Quarantine Olympics to stay happy during corona. The main idea for text two is a group of neighbors come together for a cooking class every Saturday during quarantine. These are the same in that they are both are about people taking their minds off quarantine by coming together and having fun. They are both the same in that they both are showing different ways to be entertained during corona.

The main idea of this text is-- family's will find a way to have fun even if they haft to make the fun them self, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The second article is called " "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house" this text is about a cook that teaches her Neiborhood how to cook amazing meals thru the coronavirus lockdown the main idea of this text is that people will find ways to connect during the lockdown.

The first text is about family's that are board during the COVID-19 pandemic, so they fixed this problem in a creative, funny, way. the second text is about a cook that teaches her Neiborhood how to cook amazing meals thru the coronavirus lockdown

The main idea in text one is that people will find ways to connect during the lockdown. Morris is Sutherland's wife. " I like this quote because it shows that they made them self's have fun during COVID-19. A quote I liked from the outer text I read was "Bedi has hosted the cooking class three times. She says the classes help to ease the emotional stress of lockdown. She has lived in Caulfield for 16 years and says it's been nice to connect with people again, especially since face masks prevent her from seeing her Neighbors smile." Because it show that they have a good time hanging out.

I am going to be reading and comparing two articles. The first article I'm going to read is called "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown." The second article I'm going to read is called "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house." I'm going to read the whole passage and when I'm done with one article I'm going to answer everything that's related to the article I just read. When I'm reading the second article I'm going to answer then questions related to the article and finish the comparison. I'm going to be out in the look out for good quotes for my summarys.

The first text I'm going to talk about is "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" talks first about this family The Presley's their son Alex Presley creating a game called dodgeball, but with a quarantine twists. The rules were pretty simple, "Once you're hit by a roll of toilet paper, you're out, and only then can you take off the blindfold. To make the game even more challenging, the Presleys spun in circles to dizzy themselves before they began to play." The twists were 1. instead of balls there were tiolet paper, 2. They had to be blindfolded, and 3. they had to spin in a circle before the game actually starts. Then later into the middle of the article it talk about the Presleys family got famous on tiktok because they showed the world their quarantine games "Blindfolded toilet paper dodgeball is just one event in the Presleys's "Quarantine Olympics." The competition series has gone viral on TikTok." It also said they weren't the only people who got famous during quarantine. The end talks about how The Tiktok app was a big helper to the quarantine time to the world. "The Presleys aren't the only people whose videos have gone viral during the boredom of quarantine. Many families are becoming social media celebrities for absurd projects during quarantine such as themed dinners and viral parody videos." The end talks about how during quarantine people have found a better way or finally got togheter like they used to way before the coronavirus. This one family said "Before sheltering in place, Caitlin Cannuscio said her family was often so busy that they "never really ate dinner together." and that "This has all really just brought us together." So the coronavirus had ups and downs, but after all it really put the family together.

The next article I'm going to talk about is "In a caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house" in the begginig it talks about how a lady 'Bindya Bedi' she started a zoom with her neighborhood and "Hunt asked Bedi if she would like to host an online cooking lesson for the people that live in the street." where she showed her neighboors how to cook things. The middle of the article talks about how ever since other people have heard about what their doing, other have decided to join and just as time pasty by more and more people started joining the group "There were six people in the first class, however it quickly grew to 10, then 15 people as word spread. "Each week we seemed to add one, then add a couple more," Hunt says. "I think we've got about 20 people now." So their cooking/neighboorhood economy thing started growing. The end talks about why she did. She did because "She says the classes help to ease the emotional stress of lockdown. She has lived in Caulfield for 16 years and says it's been nice to connect with people again, especially since face masks prevent her from seeing her neighbours smile." So she really just created a zoom not just for the cooking classes, but to be able to see her neighboors/peoples smile and their faces again since they are in lockdown for a long time. So going out with mask really can make people stress, sad, mad, etc. but no matter what we are all in this together and we'll all get out of this together.

I'm reading "How Bored Families are Getting through the coronavirus lockdown" and "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house" and the main Idea for the first article is about families that finding creative games to enjoy/entertain themselves during quarantine with the material they have "We played through all the board games and everything, so we had to get creative," said Alex Presley, age 25." I choose this evidence because it shows that they completed and created games with family. The second article is about how the neighborhood found a way to get togheter and enjoy themsleves with cooking and other things. "On Saturday afternoons, a group of neighbours in the Melbourne suburb of Caulfield cook the same dish. They use the same recipe and ingredients, and their kitchens carry the same aromas. The residents of Chloris Crescent have been eating dinner together every Saturday night for weeks. However it's not your average social gathering – the neighbours dine together through Zoom." I choose this evidence because it says what they did go on zoom with neighboors and they said what they dined together. The same thing that these both articles have is that there are both during lockdown, they talk about coronavirus, and they both have get togethes with people they enjoy being with. What is different about both is that the first article use games with family and social media to connect. The second article has zoom to connect and use cooking to entertain/enjoy themselves during quarantine. What I noticed is that they both have the same "lesson". The lesson I learned from both of them is that, this lockdown/virus does have ups and down, but during the process you get spend time with the people you love instead of being busy and not even HAVING time for your love one. The main ideas are the same but different. The first article min idea is about finding a way to connect by playing game. The second articles main idea is the sme but they connect through zoom and with cooking.

Today I read two text, the first text is "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown" and the second text is "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house." I will also compare the two text and also talk about their main idea.

The first text that I read is "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown." The text is about how a bored family entertained them self during COVID-19. The text talks about how the "Presley family" entertained them self by making their own game the way I know this is because the text says, "The rules of "blindfolded toilet paper dodgeball," as Alex calls it, are simple: Once you're hit by a roll of toilet paper, you're out, and only then can you take off the blindfold". The "Presley family" made the game up because the up because they were bored of the board games. So the main idea of the text is how the people are finding ways of staying entertained during quarantine.

The second text that I read is "In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house." This text is about how Bedi created a "Zoom" meting every Saturday so she could teach her neighbors how to cook some meals since she couldn’t see the smiles of her neighbors during quarantine. In the text it also talks about how her "Zoom" meeting was growing quickly "There were six people in the first class, however it quickly grew to 10, then 15 people as word spread." The main idea of this text is about how people find a way of staying In contact whit each other.

Both of the text have a lot in common and a lot different with each other. One of the difference that the text's had is that one of them is about getting entertained and the other one is about staying in contact. Another difference is that one of the text they do something together as a family and in the second one is just one person whit friends I know this because in the first articles name is "How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown." The last difference that I noticed is that in in the second text is about doing something different. One similarity is that both of the text take place during COVID-19 the way I know this is because in the text it says "To understand the "Quarantine Olympics,"' Another similarity is that they both talk about ways to stay active during quarantine. The last similarity that I found was that the both of the text talking about stuff that you could do.

Hi I am Analisia Gutierrez and I am reading "How Bored" and "In A Caulfield". In this book they talk a lot about how mostly corona virus effected plans for them to do like going out places with family and having fun stuff to do. But they couldn’t do that cause they had to stay quarantined.

In the article "How Bored" it talks about how COVID-19 was affecting how they wanted to go out and do stuff but instead they had to stay quarantine cause those were one of the rules for COVID-19. So, they had to come up with stuff to entertain them while they were in quarantine, they were playing game and stuff including toilet paper, Tik Tok, watching games, and so much more. They had family dinners and would come up with new games for them to do to keep their selves entertained. Them doing creative things is not what only keeps them having fun but keeps them together.

In the article " In A Caulfield" it talks about how during COVID-19 family's would come together on zoom and cook the exact same meal every day! Bedi had cooking classes to lockdown peoples stress and it also made Bedi more grateful for her community, her cooking group was growing more and more once the word spread because of how good of a cooking teacher she was. her cooking group started to come together in early August, it was nice for her to have her little cooking group because it was like a little family, especially because Shes away from her family.

In the articles of "How Bored" and "In A Caulfield" I notice that that they both are different in a way because one talks about how they had a cooking group and it made Bedi more happy in herself. Especially cause her family wasn't there and her cooking group just felt like her little family. Then, we have the other one which talks about a family in quarantine trying to find ways to entertain their selves . And the difference between those two is "In A Caulfield" she needed something to feel that missing whole up which had to do with family and "How Bored" has to do with them just entertaining there selves to have fun with each other.

Write your reflection here: In this article it was talking about a family that was stuck inside due COVID-19 so they had to use objects in their house, like toilet paper, and paper towel rack where we hang the paper towel, and they were like a little basketball where you try to throw the toilet paper onto the paper towel stand. They would talk to each other and before bed they would have more fun with more of the home Olympics. Or, as I like to call it, the COVID Olympics.

In this article it was talking about people on Saturdays going onto the meeting to learn how to cook. There was a woman who's been doing it for 16 years. Her name is Jennifer Hunt and she had an idea that she would open an online cooking school for people who need to learn how to cook, so she did, and since COVID happened she had to do that online. She puts a camera facing her, which the camera is linked to her computer, so while she's cooking without looking at the computer, she's cooking.

They both take place during COVID-19. They both are doing stuff to pass the time. And doing fun stuff like the COVID Olympics or helping people to cook. Everyone has their own special ways. The main idea in text one is use stuff in your house that's not fragile. You can make a little game out of it. Me and my dad have a golf and golf course that we buy during COVID. We did a little thing called the Vincent Olympics. The main idea in text two is it doesn't matter if you can or can't cook. You can cook if you want to cook. If you don't know how to cook, try your best. It's high-class entertainment," says Maurice Ashley, a grandmaster and commentator, who helped launch Clutch Chess, an innovative international tournament developed in 2020. Part of what aids that excitement is the fast-paced nature of online chess, compared with over-theboard. Among its most serious players, in-person chess matches can last four to five hours. Many online games – known as blitz or bullet chess – last only five to 10 minutes, which forces players into more intuitive and unpredictable – and hence exciting – tactics. "You make all these beautiful designs and plans, and all of a sudden somebody plays some wild idea that you didn't suspect and the pieces clash," says Ashley. "It's just chaos, pandemonium all over." Forget esports or streaming, he says: Why wouldn't someone want to watch war on a board? Krush certainly does, but she prefers playing. On a good day, she spends an hour or two online testing strategies against unwitting opponents. Since the advent of summer camps and other chess classes she runs, there's been less time for casual play, she says. But chess is still there, even when her health is not. "I was always aware that chess was very good for the infirm and disabled and sick," she says. "It's literally the only thing I can really do. Where else can I compete in top-level events from the atelic on the left

With just 32 pieces and 64 squares, chess has a gift for complexity through simplicity that has helped it survive for centuries – even remotely. Since the early 1900s, correspondence chess players living worlds apart have mailed each other their moves via postcard, playing games that lasted for months, says Tony Rich, executive director of the Saint Louis Chess Club. But the last time chess experienced a renewal like 2020's came in the 1990s, when computers began to challenge the game's doctrines, says Rich. In that way, the boom in online play is now just accelerating the decadeslong marriage of chess and advanced technology. "Chess and the internet, it just works really well together," says Jennifer Shahade, the women's program director at the U.S. Chess Federation. "You don't have to reset the pieces; you start a new game right away. … It can sometimes be enhanced online, which is often not the case for other subjects." What's different now is the volume of interest, says Nick Barton, director of business development at Chess.com. The website added 650,000 or so users in each of the first two months of 2020, says Barton. Since March, those numbers have entered the millions – with more than 1.6 million joining in June. This growth involves enormous demographic change. Chess has long been heavily male, but Chess.com's users include a disproportionately high number of women and girls, says Barton. Its new players also skew younger, he says. The chess personalities attracting these new users are, in turn, changing the face of the sport itself. "We're kind of seeing the great chess player merged with the great entertainer," says Shahade. Chess Twitch streamers – who garner an avid following – balance education and entertainment. Without an in-person audience, live commentators have become livelier as well. Aricel to the left Since the advent of summer camps and other chess classes she runs, there's been less time for casual play, she says. But chess is still there, even when her health is not. "I was always aware that chess was very good for the infirm and disabled and sick," she says. "It's literally the only thing I can really do. Where else can I compete in top-level events when I feel this way?" She looks forward to the return of over-the-board play and returning to it herself. But until then, she'll continue playing and watching, learning and teaching – adopting all the lessons chess has to offer, in a year of such tumult. "Chess can survive these rather unpleasant circumstances," says Krush. "It can survive and it can even thrive artic on the left.Sharmin Asha and Nazmul Ahmed were disappointed. With the new coronavirus outbreak sweeping the world, they realized it was not safe to bring their family and friends together under one roof. They would have to cancel their wedding. The 28-year-old couple from New Jersey had planned a 150-person wedding for April 12 in Brooklyn, New York. The wedding is now pushed back until next year. "We were basically 99-percent ready to get married, which unfortunately did not happen," Asha said. Asha and Ahmed tried to move past their disappointment, taking up the new Nintendo game "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" on the recommendation of a friend. The couple enjoyed their time with the life simulator, harvesting resources and using them to upgrade their personalized islands with new buildings and items. Then Asha experienced a thrilling surprise. By Washington Post, adapted by Newsela staff on 04.14.20 Word Count 873 Level 1060L This article is available at 5 reading levels at https://newsela.com. "Nazmul invited me over to collect resources (on his island) since he had been playing longer than me," Asha said. "As soon as I got there, he was at the airport and there were arrows on the ground. He told me there was some special in-game event, so we followed them." Surprise Beach Wedding The arrows led Asha through the town, where she picked up flowers Ahmed had left along the path, and up to the beach where their friends were waiting with their own "Animal Crossing" characters. Ahmed had planned a surprise beach wedding within the game. He got everything ready on the same day and had their friends in a video chat on mute until the big reveal. "It took me around four or five hours to set the whole thing up," Ahmed said. "Our friends played (the game) already, so they were immediately on board." Asha and Ahmed's story is becoming more common as people across the world use "Animal Crossing" to stand in for canceled events. The outbreak of the new coronavirus has closed borders, postponed planned events and forced people to stay home. For some, such as the elderly or those with existing health conditions, the disease can be quite serious. Staying away from others slows the spread and protects people at risk. The in-game wedding ceremony is not a full substitute for their wedding, Asha and Ahmed said. For now, though, the game has served as a popular replacement for the real world. "New Horizons" is the fifth game in the Nintendo series, which began in 2001. The previous version, New Leaf, has sold 12 million copies since its release in 2012. New Horizons, though, has already sold nearly 2 million copies in Japan since its release on March 20. The game has gotten so popular that "Animal Crossing" jokes, videos and memes have flooded Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms. Dang Ton is a senior at the University of Texas. He said the game is the closest many can have to a normal life right now. Ton tweeted a video showing his "Animal Crossing" character accepting a diploma after his school shut down. His real graduation ceremony may not happen. Ton and his friends made the viral video as a joke, but an actual graduation ceremony for him and other graduates may not happen. Many "Animal Crossing"-imitating-life posts are about people like Asha, Ton or Evan Latt. Latt held his 31st birthday party inside the game in late March. He would have hung out with friends in town, but they are all following the stay-at-home guidelines and not visiting each other. So instead of going out, Latt traveled through his friends' "Animal Crossing" villages. His friends brought him gifts he can use in the game and hung out as they all conversed using Zoom video chat. Game Takes The Place Of In-Person Events "New Horizons" came out at the perfect time, and fans are using the game to take the place of important events they could no longer do in person. "Most of us were planning on getting it but not playing it as hard as we did," said Latt's friend Aaron Traylor, who lives in Providence, Rhode Island. "'Animal Crossing' hit at the right time." This article is available at 5 reading levels at https://newsela.com. Traylor is a graduate student and a commentator for competitive Pokémon tournaments. After a tournament was canceled, Traylor used "Animal Crossing" to re-create the venue. He got all the other announcers together and hung out with friends he only gets to see a couple of times a year. Now that most of the tournaments are postponed and future ones remain uncertain, "Animal Crossing" is the best way to fill the void. "I'm honestly really sad," said Traylor. Some of the people who had recent in-game gatherings had been longtime fans of "Animal Crossing." Others, like Asha, had only just started playing. They all agreed that "New Horizons" came at the perfect time to give them a deeper connection with their faraway loved ones, even more than video chat alone. "Even though it wasn't in real life, in times like this it's important to be connected with those that are close to you," said Asha, whose graduation ceremony from medical school was also affected by the outbreak. "For us to have to go through the cancellation of our wedding, seeing all the people we care about come together meant a lot to me.so the main idea is to

To do stoff with your family

Hi! I'm Bentley proctor and ill compare two texts, tell you about them, say what is interesting about both texts and tell you the main idea for both text's

The first text is "how bored parents are getting through the Lock down" and the main idea is about how parents are killing the worst

Part of the lockdown "boredom" and how the "Presley's" are making

It through by having creative fun and games, Evidence that supports this is that

The text talks about how parents and just people in general are finding ways to

Still have fun while being safe and the text is about different family's around the

World are having fun, being creative and staying safe too and direct evidence I found

Was that the text said "we went through all the board games and everything, so we had

to get creative". A thing I found that was Interesting is that how I can connect to these

family's as my family are trying to Do things relatable like that too because im serious when I say that , me and my Family absolutely HATE boredom, we will do anything to not deal with

being Bored.

The second text is "In a Caulfield street on Saturday's, the smell of the same dish

Wafts from every house" and the main idea is how people are still staying strong and

Keeping their lives as normal as they can with these changes, the evidence that supports this

Is that the text just talks about how the people living on that street are still trying to continue their somewhat normal lives as much as they can by cooking the same dish like they did before chaos struck and direct evidence I found is that the text said "we look after each other, we are a small family rather than a community". The text is about how people are doing their best to try to stick to the norm. A thing I found that was interesting is how that the people living there continued to do what they loved even though they were apart.

Both texts are the same because they both talk about people still going strong and

Trying to continue life before Covid-19 as much as they can and how people are Finding ways to stick to their normal, happy lives as much as they can while Still being safe about the pandemic. Both texts are different because the first text is about how family's are trying to find how to make it through these tough times. Hope you enjoyed this and have a good weekend!!!

I am going to compare In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house and How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown. The first text I'm going to compare is In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house is about people cooking recipes that one person get and emails it to the neighborhood. Then they all get on a zoom call and cook I with each other like a friendly cook off. The person who send all of the emails is Bedi she started the zoom cooking. Bedi thinks of the group as a small family instead of a community. The main idea is how people are social time while cooking. The second text I am going to compare is How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown April 8 the Presley' where playing doge ball that sounds normal right but they where playing doge ball with toilet paper. Wondering why because they where so board in quarantine because of covid-19, they where so board that they played though all the board games. The rules of ''blindfolded toilet paper dodgeball are if you get hit by toilet paper your out that when you can take off the blindfold. To make it fair but then you have to spin till your dizzy, to make it fair. The main idea is how bored families are getting through quarantine. The main idea in the first text is the main idea is how people are social time while cooking. The main idea in the second text is The main idea is how bored families are getting through quarantine. They are similar because two text both there both about how people Are having fun in quarantine. Their both about how people are adapting to quarantine

It talks about how The " quarantine Olympics was a new internet trend. The Presly family was Playing dodgeball but None of the players could see Each other and they used Toilet paper instead of Balls. They had already played all of their card games so they made something new. The rules of blind folded Dodgeball are " once you are hit by a roll of toilet paper You're out, and only then You can take off the blind Fold. One of the Presly's created A game and posted it on Tik Tok. It made them internet famous. Other families are becoming internet famous because of games they have played during quarantine.

I also read In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house. It talks about a group of neighbors make the same food every Sunday afternoon. The people of Chloris Cresent have eaten dinner together every Saturday for weeks on zoom. They did this during lockdown because some people missed their neighbors.

The main idea in " How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown " is the families are finding new ways to enjoy themselves in quarantine. The main idea in " In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house " is that neighbors are having a cooking class online so they can still see each other during quarantine. They are similar because they both talk about how people are coming together to make the best of quarantine. Another similarity is that they both talk about COVID-19.
I have finished reading In a Caulfield Streets on Saturdays and How Bored Families Are getting Through the Coronavirus lock down. And have found many serialities between the two texts.

The article Caulfield Streets on Saturdays talks about this group of people who cook the same dish every Saturday night. Jennifer hunt used to do this in person however Covid 19 hit so then they had to think of a new plan. So she has been organizing a team's meeting to cook Infront of the participants. Since they had to use this program they have been able to invite others around the world, in her own words "we started with 6 and then it seemed like we were adding one every week until now where we have at least 20 people per class.

The article How Bored Families Are getting Through the Coronavirus lock down. Is about how families have been going through the boredom of staying inside. They have thought of games like "quarantine Olympics" where they play games like "who can land the toilet paper on pipe and "blind folded paper doge ball." Where you are blind folded with toilet paper had have to try not to get hit. They also do more family meeting like making a zoom meeting and enjoying a nice family dinner or just to talk. And lasty they have also been making creative projects to keep themselves busy and so they don’t think too much about what's happing outside their house.

Some connections I made between the two text is that they both ae about how COVID-19 19 effected them in a negative way but, they could make it more positive. The also both have the use of zoom or teams in their way to help them. The first text has cooking and the second text has games, these are different but, they do it for the same reason. The main idea of the first text is " bad things can be good things" and the main idea for text two is "You can make the most out of dark times" I think these two are very similar because they both have the bad can be good type of energy.

Today I am going to compare the two texts "How Bored Families are Getting Through the Corona Virus Lockdown." And "In a Caulfield Street on Saturdays, the Smell of the Same Dish Wafts Comes From Every House." Text one "How Bored Families are Getting Through the Corona Virus Lockdown." was all about all of these families doing creative things during quarantine. A lot of these families went viral for doing these things and posting them doing it on social media. There was a college student who got stuck in quarantine with his family and he also love to cook and comedy. So he made different themed dinners for his family. And he loved doing it for the fun his family to have. " I'm supposed to be at college, so I haven't had dinner with them in a while, This has all really just brought us together." Another family did a lot of "Quarantine Olympics" or just gaming in quarantine. And went really viral on TikTok. They did really creative games like "Blindfolded Toilet Paper Dodgeball" "Straw Challenge" and more just like those. Text two "In a Caulfield Street on Saturdays, the Smell of the Same Dish Wafts Comes From Every House." was mostly about this woman named Bedi loves to cook different dishes and on Saturday's she has cooking classes and she kind of "assigns" them a cooking recipe but they all have to make the same dishes. Like with the same ingredients and make it just like the recipe say so. But before the COVID –19 outbreak when she first started she only had like 6 people join her class. Then more weeks went by and more and more people hear and spread the word and joined. She feels like it's not a community but a small family. She does these cooking classes for people who live on the streets but they join so that they can learn how to cook much easier. The main idea of text one is families doing very creative games and activities. The main idea in text two is Bedi does something very special and important for her street and her cooking class. The things they have in common are that they both had to deal with COVID –19 and these had also helped people during the pandemic. These had also had went a bit viral for a little while. These also cured boringness during the pandemic. The two texts also had a couple of differences. The trends of the events in the texts had helped people connect and come together as a group much easier but in very different ways. They have both got different amounts of attention. The first text mainly talks about families doing fun stuff during quarantine but the second text is mainly about a woman teaching a cooking class during quarantine and making the meals all the exact same recipe and ingredients.

  Jason Luther

Hi My name is Jason and my here is my Comparison

    Text One

I Am Reading How Bored Families are Getting Through Quarantine, and the main idea is about what families are doing through quarantine. People are making up games when they finished all their Bored Games, Like Playing with toilet paper and making viral cooking TikToks. Like a 14 year old boy who makes cooking videos with his family and he has inspired many people to do the same on TikTok. And The Presley family would play a game called Toilet Paper Dodge Ball during COVID-19. And the main idea is that during Quarantine people are getting creative and people are getting popular and being celebrities from quarantine from posting videos on the internet.

Text Two

I Am Reading In a Caulfield Street on Saturdays. The main idea is about people doing cooking classes and having family dinners together in a call in Saturday Afternoons

Write a comparison. Compare their main ideas. The residents of Chloris Crescent have family dinners while eating the same dish every Saturday Afternoons. And a girl named hunt invited her friends family and neighbors to her zoom meeting for cooking classes and dinners of eating the same dishes every Saturday And before the meetings Hunt sends an email of the recipe to the people who go to the meetings. And the main Idea is that Quarantine is helping people start things to do when you're bored during the pandemic.

Comparison

They are the same because they both talk about COVID-19 And Quarantine and having nothing to do because the pandemic COVID-19. And they talk about how people are making trends and posting them on the Inernet like TikTok. And that they are making up new things to do during quarantine like doing online cooking classes and online dinners with family, and making up games with toilet paper rolls when they finished all their bored games to play.

And They are different because Text Two is talking about a specific person named Hunt, and Text One is talking about how people are getting famous from Quarantine because people have nothing to do. And they are also different because Text One is talking about how are people.

I am going to compare In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house and How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown.

The first text I am going to compare is In a Caulfield street on Saturdays, the smell of the same dish wafts from every house is about people cooking recipes that one person gets and emails it to the neighborhood. Then they all get on a zoom call and cook I with each other like a friendly cook off. The person who sends all the emails is Bedi she started the zoom cooking. Bedi thinks of the group as a small family instead of a community. The main idea is how people are social time while cooking.

The second text I am going to compare is How bored families are getting through the coronavirus lockdown April 8 the Presley's where playing doge ball that sounds normal right, but they were playing doge ball with toilet paper. Wondering why because they were so board in quarantine because of covid-19, they were so board that they played though all the board games. The rules of ''blindfolded toilet paper dodgeball are if you get hit by toilet paper, you are out that when you can take off the blindfold. To make it fair but then you must spin till your dizzy, to make it fair. The main idea is how bored families are getting through quarantine.

The main idea in the first text is the main idea is how people are social time while cooking.

The main idea in the second text is the main idea is how bored families are getting through quarantine.

They are similar because.

he two text both there both about how people

Are having fun in quarantine.

Their about how people are adapting to quarantine.
