Starting in 1800 we had the T model electric battery-powered engine that’s when it all started. In 1835 a Dutch chemist developed an electric carriage. 2006: Next Tesla Enters Tesla and starts researching electric cars. After that in 2009 — 2013: Developed a Nation-Wide Charging Infrastructure Department of Energy invested and put up electric chargers. 2010: First Commercially Available Plug-In Hybrid purchasable GM released the Chevy Volt. 2013: Electric Vehicle Battery Costs Drop Department of Energy invested and in 4 years the cost dropped by 50% and that was the most expensive part of an electric car.

Electrical transportation will make it much better to travel around. Just Making life easier in general. Studies show that you can save about 14,000$ every 15 years. An electrical car on average lasts about 21 years. If we do the math that's about 19600$ saves from having an electric car. The price for a gallon of gas in Virginia is about 3.24 per gallon and that’s a lot of money. The average American uses 600 gallons a year so if you started driving at 18 and drove until you were 88 then that is 70 years. 600x70 is 42,000 and if you do 42000x3.24 you get 136,080$ spent on gas in a lifetime and that's a lot of money as opposed to spending extra to get an electric car that does not use gas and is better for the environment. Also over the years this will change as the price of gas gets higher or lower, probably higher. There may be some jobs switched or lost because there will be less demand for gas but the electric car companies will need much more workers. The workers will have much better working conditions because there is lots of exhaust from non-electric cars. The cars are tested or malfunction so there is exhaust going in the factory making it bad for the workers/environment. HUmans will also live better in general because there is less pollution in the air making it easier and better to breathe.

There will be less pollution in the air meaning we will be destroying the planet slower. It will slow down our use of fossil fuels for gas and then use them for things we don’t have a more environmentally friendly substitution for. There are so many steps for a normal gas car that cause pollution not just what is coming out of the exhaust pipe there is mining of the oil. transporting the fuel, making the car, transporting the car, and refining the oil into fuel. All of those steps cause so much pollution and just for some cars that we can make and have less pollution.

Cars will be more expensive at the beginning and during the middle of the craze very expensive but because more people already have them the price will start to drop. As more things get expensive the stock gets better too so maybe buy stock in an electric car business to make some money. It is expensive to switch off fossil fuels and to generate electricity and if we use solar panels or wind energy and not fossil fuels to run the electrical plants it will be very expensive but much better for the environment. The switch to electric vehicles could have a big impact on the presidential election or some debate in the senate.

How we can solve the problem

This is a huge problem in our world with all of this pollution we are destroying the world fast and once it's gone it's gone but there are a few things we can do. First of all, the change people can make is to buy electric cars, electric cars are not the only thing to lessen pollution. Companies can start with more hybrid cars and then switch to electric so there is less pollution. A worry people have is that there are not enough charging stations so companies can invest and put more out there so it is easier to charge your car. There will still be pollution with manufacturing the cars but it is less pollution to manufacture an electric car then to manufacture an electric car.
