The music video has a slight story-plot but nothing major. It starts with the star, Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd putting his jacket on after leaving his bed. There's still a party going on in his house so everyone is drinking and having fun. Some of the lyrics said in the song actually sync with the music video, e.g. "About to leave the crib with a couple of my pirates", you see Abel leave his house with his friends who are of Somali/Ethiopian descent despite the stereotype but also a lot of East African people live in Toronto, Canada, where Abel is from.
The music video is also filmed in slow motion thus the frame rate per second is higher, it makes the music video that much more mysterious as the song already is, which is effective and from the 32 million views which are on youtube it is very popular.
The Weeknd was going to announce his tour to the fans so he dropped the song with it. It does have a little plot to it but also nothing major. It starts off with a girl who is actually singing the song on a small stage and looks at the main star Majid Al Muskati who are infact both looking at each other while the girl on stage is singing. She is expressing her love for him in the song and he realises it's for him. The music video is dark and moody with a lot of shots of the different environments including derelict buildings and a modified vehicle, like something out of Mad Max.

The videos intentions are most likely to make the viewer feel like the artists and actors in the music video are in a post apocalyptic world.
A lot of different shots are used in production for this music video including, mid shots, close-up shots, and varied shots.

On “Fire & Desire,“ Drizzy expresses his dedication to one woman, who’s outside his grasp, already committed to another man.


She and Drizzy have already spent some time together, so he knows that they have a deep connection. The girl doesn’t know if she’s ready to leave her current man for Drake, though.


Speculatively, Drake might be singing to his former Cash Money labelmate Nicki Minaj,whose engagement to his rival Meek Mill has caused a rift in their historically flirty friendship. Meek could certainly be accused of “throwin' dirt on [Drake’s] old name.”


Drake told Zane Lowe on Beats 1’s OVOSOUND Radio that he and Nicki don’t really talk anymore but there’s no love lost:


[She’s a] person I have a lot of love for. A lot of love and a lot of respect. Not only for our past, and how much work and time we put in, but even just the way she dealt with the situation. I understand what love is, and I understand a personal situation. She dealt with me how I would expect her to — which was with class. I could only ever do the same.


The song also shares a name and subject matter with Rick James and Teena Marie’s classic duet from 1981, “Fire & Desire.” The song is about reminiscing over a former lover.

We wanted this video to show the character in a different light, literally. We used an open golf course for the character to use as an extension for his personality. We wanted this character to be formidable, open-minded and have a growing confidence, whilst the other character remains to seek confidence within and is more timid and shy.
We used the song Faithful by Drake from his new album Views. We made our mind up on starting the video lighter than the end of the video. We arrived at Central London earlier than expected and we found some amazing places to film but the weather wasn't right for our music video. We specifically asked for moody atmosphere and LED lights to feature in our video so that's what we did. We used the people, energy and architecture of London to produce our music video, we used a various choice of influences during production including, artists, directors and textures.
We mostly filmed around London's tallest skyscraper, The Shard. Central had the most monumental area featuring London's most popular tourist destination so it was fitting to set the video there.
