It is displayed through the son of the old woman leading her to his car where her grandchildren and daughter-in-law are waiting for her, and them waving goodbye at the stunned old ladies.

This creates a sense of happiness towards the old lady because she had been quietly listening to the 3 other old ladies brag about their sons showering them with expensive gifts at first. It is revealed that in the end, it was her who was the most loved out of the four of them. Hence, we also feel empathy towards the bragging old ladies because it was also revealed they were not really loved after all.

The messaging technique of associations is also used in this video. It makes us realise that every small display of affections towards our family, especially our elders, counts. That the greatest gift of all to them is that we remind them we are always here to care for them and that we cherish them, that they are worth more than expensive stuff.

This narration evokes a feeling of self-actualisation (inaccurate use of self-actualisation which means a sense of self-fulfilment in realising our full potential) in the viewers as we reflect upon our actions of affection towards our parents and grandparents. The grandparents, though their children have separate lives, would still want to spend time with them. The children, though busy with their own lives and family, would still need to spend time with their parents before they go.

Initially, when the three of them were making the main old lady feel left out, it triggered empathy from the viewers, but as the story advances, it also made the viewers have sympathy for them too, as even though their children are so much more successful in comparison, they are not happy.

By using the associations that come with being a lawyer and doctor in an Asian context, which by being these roles you will lead a happy and successful life filled with luxuries, it amplified the message and emotions we feel when the three old ladies were revealed to be jealous of the main old lady and sad inside. It really makes us think if materialism is really worth it, even if that meant that family will be neglected. The drastic change in expression when the three old ladies were talking about their children's accomplishment to when they saw the main old lady get into a car with her whole family welcoming her makes us think that sometimes, it really is the small things that count. Gems and jewels might bring joy, but the love of family brings warmth to the soul.

This makes the viewers want to change their thinking as it shone a truth to us. We would think that by working hard and being able to afford luxuries to pay our parents back for the love they showed us would be sufficient, but in actuality, sometimes just simply spending time with them means more than anything money can buy. Lastly, this video shows that love is wonderful. It's in the way the grandma smiles when he sees her son.
