Sharing Strategies by Jennifer Lane

Think about the instructional strategies we've learned the past few days and look through your strategies playbook at the ones we didn't use. Choose a strategy, explain how it works and/or link a video that shows the strategy in action and then provide an example of how it could be used in your classroom. When you have posted your response, please respond to at least 3 peers and tell them how you could use their strategy in your classroom.

In this case I would have random students choose a card with either fraction or percentage and have them explain to the class what they understood from the lesson or just from their own understanding of what these terms are. Then have them demonstrate the use and solve problems. This would have more of their peers involved and grasping concept.

Rock and Roll Vocab is a strategy I look forward to using in the classroom because it can be interactive both in a face- to face and a virtual setting. It can help students share, use and build up their vocabulary in a target language.

Students will be practicing their Math skills and critical thinking, allowing students to be independent in sharing their answers and moving around the classroom. It would also prepare them to evaluate their partner, give them positive and supportive feedbacks.

It breaks classes into groups and breaks assignments into pieces that the group assembles to complete the (jigsaw) puzzle. Each student gets a piece of topic to focus on.Domain 2: H.2 learning and reportingRubric: Students take ownership of their learning and lead the lesson, and the teacher becomes the facilitator. This is a strong and recommendable strategy for me as a teacher in the classroom. Each student takes part to study their piece of topic and when it is shared time, each student will share what their topic is about while others are listening and learning at the same time.

This strategy would be my choice because it gives the option for students to review information. For example, students can forma a circle and teacher can provide the groups with a ball (e.g. beach ball). Students will then take turns tossing the ball from one person to another. When a student receives the ball they have to state the sporting vocabulary term that matches the given definition or give the definition of the term. With large classes, a teacher may consider having more than one group to increase opportunities for students to participate in learning.

Francisco Tush Play it, Say it Monitor the students to play the activity in small group, guide them properly. Engage them in saying it to practice to speak in proper English which is their second language. This is giving them the opportunity to interact as a child centered approach instead of Teacher Centered Approach. Try to move away from traditional teaching approach. This activity is relevant in Language Arts especially doing a Creating Writing Composition. It is accurate in doing story map to discuss the characters, the setting of the events and concluding the activity. Then finally, students will begin to do their first draft of their Writing Composition.Rubric Lessons are sometimes designed to allowed students to take ownership of their learning.Domain 1.
