The 13th amendment abolished slavery and the south didn't like this cause they now lost there slaves. The 14th amendment gave equal rights under the law and equal citizenship the south didn't like this cause they could no longer be cruel to them with out punishment. Its been 1 week since the civil war ended and its been hard to find a job that hasn't already been taken by another freedmen. My wife and I are thinking of moving north in hopes of finding jobs. When we raise enough money i hope to officially marry her and maybe even start a family. I feel this way cause america had just been to war with each other and need to become one again which is exactly what happened. We also wanted to abolish slavery which we did.
Another thing is that we also boosted are population. We now had more people that needed jobs that were filled and we had also had the view point of black men since they were now joining the government.
